    I don't even know what country you are referring to. I think the fact that they are taking kids out of school at 9 years old with the dream of playing baseball is the worst thing they can do. Education systems through sport have worked in soccer, basketball and boxing, mostly in South America and Africa. It ends up increasing the participation levels and encourages education.

    Prior to the next CBA lets get more education academies into the DR. Not saying education would stop people from doing stupid things (like driving fast on roads that aren't set out for those speeds, cause a lot of educated people do that too). But this is a perfect excuse to change a very flawed system that has kids being pulled from school at a very young age. This doesn't need to be about the most profit now, it's about bettering a country that has given a lot for Major League Baseball.

    Yeah I understand that. I'm just not in a position to throw away higher picks and I have all the leverage in a trade for a player about to be dropped. Has TCA even said if he'd be keeping him?

    I only have 3 starters right now. I will be looking at the list of drop pitchers and probably offer a late pick for one that eats innings. Ventura would fit that bill. If we are talking comp I'd say a mid pick.

    No one said we are going full PC. It's not like I threatened to ban anyone from using it, nor did I write that as a mod. I am simply responding to something I didn't like in a way that might get someone to see a different point of view. Feel free to change my opinion (of something that I don't actually believe)

    I can think of reasons for it. But it will always slow down the process regardless. With that said two trade happy managers will be faster than me.

    college has some depth this year with not much star power at the top IMO (I like Kendall but everyone else I haven't seen or has question marks...also known as pitchers). College catchers are deep this year I can see 6 or 7 in the top 75, with Florida maybe having 2 of them. Not hearing a lot about high school at all. Even like a set top 5 (everyone seems to have Hunter Greene at the top but nothing too consistent after that. Had someone rave to me about Ricardo DeLaTorre, and I've decided to believe in all 1st round Puerto Rican SS's.

See what happens when the Blue Jays put out a f***ing red shirt it causes fighting among DDL'ers. I can't close my eyes and make it go away. How long, how long must we sing this song? I can't believe that Bono lyrics are the least offensive thing in this thread.

And Greenwood has his commentary when people refer to trades as rape...I will leave you with these words from a Special Olympian. It's an older letter but he's still been fighting the case on TV and the point still stands. I'm not going to ban words...just try and tell people that they could use some changes in the way they write and speak.

    He's starting at the top. Spent the summer getting rid of every program (and people) which was started by Theo. He will destroy the team as soon as someone asks for more money than he's willing to pay (which admittedly is probably a pretty huge number.

    I have said (including three times in this thread) eventually I'd vote for Wagner. Vlad was not on my ballot. Manny who I leave off for now is off because he was the worst at one aspect of the game. But he's one of 13 on this ballot I'd put in. I've also said in the past, if the HOF ever started over I'd have stupid women's golf type standards to make it truly elite and then only a couple of these guys would get in. Of course my HOF would close down as no one wants to go see 35 exhibits.

    You trying to tell me that 1996 - 2000, hitting dream era, Trevor Hoffman was not an outstanding player? The guy was 34th in pitching fWAR in this time frame and he, Wagner and Mariano were way ahead of almost every reliever during this era too (Maybe Rob Nen). Averaging 2.0 fWAR in a hitters era for a ten year period as a reliever is impressive. An argument for relievers not being in the Hall I can absolutely buy, as the difference between the top 3 and the middle of the pack are too miniscule...but if there are going to be relievers in the hall Hoffman deserves it. No one ever compares catcher hitting stats to Outfielders so position has to be considered.
