  1. Of course there is the other factor where the team loses millions of dollars in sponsorship money and does f*** all in the season. The other factor is of course the other players on the team. No of us know how players, coaches feel. Anyway I am getting Moreno notifications...must run
  2. It all comes down to $$$. Not the money it will take to sign him but will the backlash be enough to drive away sponsors. Social media is now about 50/50 mostly split down the middle based on their opinion of Trevor previous to the incident. For a team to spin the PR that this was a kink and a golddigger just won't happen (that is his team's job and they have done it well), as it undermines the suspension and team's just can't do that. So it has to be a team that is prepared to lose a sponsor if the media spins it as taking on a demon. You have a month to decide and I think there will be enough team's who decide it is worth the risk.
  3. Rangers
  4. There is no way the Giants would risk losing a relationship with Boras. Just crazy scenarios
  5. I saw something that said after the players fund gets their share it is under $3M per team.
  6. I'm sure he gets at least that with a season even close to 2022. I just don't think he'll give any preferential treatment to SD in negotiating. You don't think he could walk up to SD right now and say extend me for 3 years $60M they wouldn't do it?
  7. I think there is value in waiting for the season to start too. A season ending injury to one of the team's catchers who have gone all in (Realmuto, Narvaez) could really drive up the price and will give the Jays time to see where their greatest need is.
  8. I believe that keeping all three catchers and getting Moreno time in the OF is the best thing for the Jays. But also signing Conforto is not going to take PA's away from KK as people seem to think it iwill. It's Merrifield, DH's and Lourdes.
  9. No it's to add some discipline to the young yahoos who snort coke off of each other's bats in the dugout.
  10. They will likely have to decide between Machado and Soto. Machado is opting out of 5 years/$160M at the age of 31. Any injury this year could change things...but as much as he talks positive about San Diego, if he really wanted to stay he'd just not opt out.
  11. It is just worded wrong. Toronto does not need to guarantee him full-time playing time. What does Conforto really do for us other than make it easier to pursue a trade for Moreno? His floor is lower than Lourdes or Whit, his ceiling is lower than Moreno. It takes PA's away from a positive contributing player no matter what. Anything more than a couple of starts in CF would mean bad things for the Jays for many reasons. I can see trying to get him on a value signing, but the upside just isn't big enough to get into a bidding war for the guarantee of going over the CBT for me.
  12. No one hated JPA as a player more than me. But as a person the guy is one of the most real, charitable people I've ever met. I think you seem to have something against the Irrational Confidence guys. Of which Bo would not be in. Bo has been honest with this front office from day 1 in saying that he wouldn't sign a team friendly extension. I can respect that.
  13. Except the Giants TV deal is signed thru 2032 and merch sales are partially included in revenue sharing. Individuals can help with community development, maybe franchise value, but rarely do they return much on the bottom line outside of baseball related returns
  14. It is all the PA has ever fought for too. They have never thought about anyone but the top level vets. Even the MLB ever went to a cap, their priority would be buyouts to ensure vets still get paid
  15. That outfielder is Moreno. Either through a catcher trade or keeping him and playing him in CF. Would like to see another back end bullpen arm before worrying about OF
  16. L54 is becoming a socialist before our very eyes...come on in for a hug!
  17. We have retained legal counsel bitches Yes I am completely ignoring that we already have a lawyer as a mod
  18. If he rediscovers his stroke we can be one of the teams trying to trade for him in July.
  19. And the cameras in KK's house were without audio. Purely for visual pleasure
  20. Jays (and every team in baseball) will be getting about $2.325M from the Mets competitive balance tax penalties. And people make a big deal about Bobby Bonilla day (which I still say was a good deal for the Mets)
  21. With the KK signing the Jays are back at 40. So who is next on the chopping block with the next signing? Merryweather, Gage. Capra?
  22. Can non mods see who voted for who? Just for Term's future wraths Kiermaier - Captain Adama, Captain_Obvious, Gen.Disarray, JaysAllMighty, Laika, max silver, rabbit4949, Terminator Gallo - InsideThePark, Jays24, Jays333, Sorrow, Stangstag Bellinger - 43211234, Angrioter, Candy Maldonado, Davie, Deadpool, devo, Dick_Pole, donnybrook, Eat My Shatkins, Ehjays, Funky, G-Snarls, Grant77, jaysblue, jaysfaithful8, jaysguy44, JG34, Jimcanuck, John_Havok, Jonn, Krylian, L54, LetTheBallFly, LGBJ29, lurker, M.E., Omar, philly30, RustyTrombone, Skinny Wolf, wilko, WryNGinger
  23. My apologies, I was geneinely trolling. My cameras in the Kiermaier household were removed when he got married. I'm sure this is a 1 year or 1 and 1 deal. Also, Ross stopped playing cribbage when I claimed muggins on him.
  24. IMO any future OF moves will likely be minor league signings until June when they will decide if they want to enter the OF trade market. One thing KK has proved over his time in Tampa, is that he will never complain about a move which changes his role
  25. 2 years $21M with an option for a 3rd. $3M buyout so $24M on 2 years.
