  1. $200 a term is pretty reasonable for alcohol in a term. That's ~$12 a week.
  2. None of my friends care enough about baseball either. The ones who like baseball are only Jays fans; they don't see the appeal in watching two other teams.
  3. lol. I watched A LOT of baseball last year. MLB.TV is the best thing ever. I can't recommend it enough.
  4. I love the thinking behind this and Ohka. Keep signing these guys AA.
  5. And Bartolo Colon is the greatest pitcher in history. He's as good as Cliff Lee, Brandon Phillips and Grady Sizemore combined!
  6. I'm skeptical if it will be released publicly. I sure hope it does but there's no guarantee. Remember, Pitch FX was never formally 'released' for the public's consumption, people just at some point found a way to access the XML files through Gameday. It was sort of an accident.
  7. This article on how Russell Wilson could have made the Majors made me laugh: http://espn.go.com/dallas/mlb/story/_/id/10542054/russell-wilson-baseball-career-joke In 2011, Wilson hit .229/.366/.342 with 82 SO in 62 games as a 22-year-old in the Sally. Keith Law says Wilson was a non-prospect. He's a cool guy and the two-sport dynamic is neat. But don't throw away the facts in the quest for a good narrative.
  8. I'll pick up an NA guy once the waiver draft ends, but will probably drop him once a better prospect becomes eligible.
  9. lol. There's actually a whole whack of guys. The first days of the MiLB season will be a frenzy. Okay. That's a good way to do it. I'm going to have to sync all my clocks to Yahoo time
  10. Okay, that makes sense. One more question: What is the definition of "played" as it pertains to a prospect having played at AA or higher (and then becoming eligible for MLB rosters)? Does it apply the second a prospect steps onto a AA or higher field, the second the first pitch is thrown with him in the lineup, or the second the game is over (and the statistics are 'official')?
  11. So it's a judgement call made by the Darrells then, no strict deadline? Not trying to be difficult btw.
  12. I have a rules question: At what point do picks with expired windows expire? I have the 98th pick. How long after my window expiring would I be forced to pick, or else give up the pick entirely? A week?
  13. I like Burton's skills a lot and from everything I've heard he's the set-up man to start the season in Minnesota. Good pick. I have him ahead of a lot of the set-up guys taken so far.
  14. Yes, it was ironic. I'm just really amused by the hive mind narrative. If every other poster disagrees with you, it must be that they are engaged in groupthink. All of them ignoramuses who follow the teachings of their most assertive member. Heaven forbid you actually are wrong!
  15. Jose Bautista is a supercilious dickhead. Just the absolute worst individual. My God I hate watching that dude play. However, if he's hitting bombs and the Blue Jays are winning IDGAF. If the Blue Jays are playing at a .600 clip I could care less how many umps he berates or teammates he alienates. Winning is the ultimate cure.
  16. MLB.TV has MASN (Orioles guys) as broadcasting tomorrow's game!
  17. MLB does seem to love David Wright. They made him into "Captain America" during the WBC, he was featured everywhere during last year's All Star festivities, and now this. A conspiracy is possible.
  18. That's true, but that wasn't the window. I believe it was 9 AM to 8 AM EST. Which is 6 AM to 5 AM PST. Of the 24 possible hours, East misses out on the 8 am - 9 am hour and West misses out on the 5 am - 6 am window. I don't think the zones had anything to do with this. The Mets just happened to have more fans tweet their support.
  19. Why would the time zone matter? All zones had 24 hours to vote. Every hour in a full day.
  20. Pretty cool!
  21. I bet it won't drag on much past Opening Day. If they sign a one-year deal after OD, the signing team can't subject them to a QO next offseason. That's more important that avoiding the QO this offseason IMO, since to do so you'd have to forfeit half a season. I'll be closing the "Will the Blue Jays trade Bautista" question this weekend.
  22. Don't you worry John_Havok. We have a defense-speed CF in the system who is ALSO a very advanced hitter. In fact, he's a collegiate batting champion.
  23. lol I'm the exact opposite. My four remaining picks are 93, 94, 96, 98.
  24. Nice pick! Schierholtz is my first cut who's been drafted. We've now gotten through 20 picks in the past 24 hours (starting with Neal Cotts to Spanky). Dinger said in a post this morning that we weren't projected to finish until March 15. Not anymore!
