  1. Doing an upgrade today (over today and possibly tomorrow), might experience a bit of downtime, probably nothing more than a few minutes, unless something goes terribly wrong. Site uses quite a bit of resources, bandwidth and diskspace, so all are being upgraded. I've noticed delays here and there, so this will all be fixed. Also working on adding blog to the site, just really tied up at the moment, but I want to get that going soon. I'm trying to decide if I should make the blog the front page and run the forum off the blog, or just link the blog from here. I just want to get the writers the most exposure possible, and if it's linked off here, rather than being front page, it won't get as much exposure. But at the same time the site is "Blue Jays Message Board", so to have a blog on the front page is a bit funny.
  2. Didn't see him today, but I remember his short return in 2011 (I guess it was?), even though his numbers didn't show it, his stuff looked fantastic.
  3. Jokes on them, I don't check my emails! Worst comes to worst, we'd change the name and the logo. It's not making any money, so it's not really an issue. I don't think they would care. But saying that, this is the same company that let their own forums die, which had the potential of being one of the largest online communities in the world. In a day where social media is king, and keeping in contact with customers is key, they foolishly let the forums die. That's what happens when you have dinosaurs running a company. I own several hundred domain names, it wouldn't be the first time I was contacted about copyright violation.
  4. It's all about his confidence. Told himself he's going back to his old self. Didn't blow up in the first inning and just built on it. The big issue will be when he has a bad inning. Does he let it bother him, or does he keep going.
  5. Can one or two of you do a full draft recap after it's done? This is probably the least I followed in ten years.
  6. SSS but Blanco is .333/.500 in last four games, and Dickey has one of his best outings of the year, and Blanco is gone. If you do it now, you should have done it two months ago.
  7. Tex was my first choice, but their BP is doing pretty well. Fieri's only blown one save in LA, but also has a 6.31 BB/9, though I'm sure they wouldn't give Oliver the job. If Oliver can look close to what he did last year, he could probably bring a decent prospect in return.
  8. Call me a homer, but I think he can do okay. His numbers are almost identical to his minor league numbers from 2011, though SSS, he was fairly effective with Washington. He's thowing high 88-91 from what I read (though also read 86-89), not walking any, that should be good enough to be effective. He looked okay in the WBC too. He's not going to strike anyone out, bu the should be able to keep it on the ground.
  9. This is why Mock drafts six months ago are pointless. Half the guys disappear.
  10. It's mind blowing that 16-17 year old kids throw in the 90s. Can someone tell me when our next picks are? **nevermind found it
  11. He did put a lot of work in, and hope he keeps going. He has anger problems, and that's coming right from his mouth. ** edit, yeah as above.
  12. That's why I don't understand why they're making a big deal about this. I mean it wasn't a huge deal, but they turned it into something massive. Almost seems like a setting an example out of them. But I mean if they wanted to, they could simply say xxxxx players passed every drug test so the allegations simply aren't true. Protein supplements, creatine, etc. Where does it stop.
  13. What's the point of testing if there are so many ways to beat it? Obviously it would never happen, but it's atleast a level playing field. You had Bonds and a handful of others on an undetectable steroid for who knows how long. Jose Canseco made a great point. Him and his brother took the same steroids, trained the same, etc. His brother didn't make it pro. They aren't magic. How about you tell me what your plan is, and I'll let you know why it's dumb.
  14. Think about this. Before the THG scandal (the undetectable steroid), 95% of fans were clueless of steroid use. No one thought about it, they loved the home runs, the Sosa/McGwire home run race was one of the most exciting seasons in baseball. Then all the sudden the average fan is exposed to what really goes on. All the sudden they hate these home run hitters, and everyone else using steroids. It's all over the media. I will guarantee steroid use in teen baseball players double (Probably 10x by now) after all this steroid talk started. All this is doing is telling kids there are steroids in sports and that's the only way to make it to the big leagues. You can't stop movie/software piracy, you can't stop PED in sports. There were always be more cheaters than the ones trying to catch them, and they will always be a step up on them. All you are doing is wasting money and resources trying to stop it, and putting it in the spotlight for young kids. Testosterone and growth hormone have come a long way in the last 5-7 years. Almost no doctor would use this as a treatment in aging men. Today, it's starting to be accepted and there are numerous doctors prescribing these drugs to patients, and they feel better than ever.
  15. Year and a half to decide that?
  16. Damnit, I got banned again.
  17. If we tanked properly we would have been picking #7.
  18. Mine's actually weird too, I think I originally logged in from this Jays forum (not the main page), and saved that. Now when I come to main page, I'm not logged in until I come to the actual Jays forum. Kinda strange.
  19. Maybe has something to do with you accepting cookies? I'm not sure. I never that before.
  20. Buehrle has been decent too. We need to string together a good 5-6 wins, which we haven't seemed to be able to do for as long as I can remember. But if we can get JJ + Buehrle + Dickey consistent, we have a chance to do that. Need to go on like a 9-1 run, and all the sudden we're 2 games back of .500. Funny thing, Lind and Rasmus were supposed to be two of our bigger question marks coming into the season, and they've been two of our better players.
