Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted June 9, 2025 Posted June 9, 2025 Blue Jays fans rejoice: oft-injured veteran starter Max Scherzer is throwing off a mound again and is well on the path to returning to a mound in Toronto. Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet reported that Scherzer threw roughly half a simulated start in his next step to return to the Blue Jays. Scherzer injured his thumb in his first and only start on March 29 of the season. The Jays could use Scherzer's help to stabilize their rotation. Bowden Francis has an 18.00 ERA over his last two starts, going only five innings with four home runs allowed and seven walks. View full rumor Spanky__99, BatFlip and M.E. 3

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 9, 2025 Posted June 9, 2025 I think I'm more enthusiastic about Varsho hitting a homer off of him
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2025 Posted June 9, 2025 I'm tired of this ramping up crap. He's older than dirt and this is likely his last season. Get your ass to Buffalo and throw an 80 pitch game and then get yourself to Toronto to replace Francis. Once your thumb falls off, announce your retirement and then you can sit in the dugout and eat sunflower seeds with the boys. But until then we need to patch this rotation together until the trade deadline. Get on the mound bud. Spanky__99 1
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2025 Posted June 9, 2025 Jays need Max back. With Max and Turbull in the fold again the rotation is looking pretty nice. Francis goes back to a swingman roll.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2025 Posted June 9, 2025 What if Mad Max turns back the clock for one final playoff run?

Isn't that the plan though, as long as his side session goes well, pitch in Buffalo on Friday, get up to 75 pitches and then 5 days later pitch with the blue jays.
