neverbeenhere Verified Member Posted May 31, 2025 Posted May 31, 2025 Fisher hadn't allowed any run until this game?
Jaysman Verified Member Posted May 31, 2025 Posted May 31, 2025 Riding some no mark guy we’ve decided to use as an opener - 5 runs later…. Gonna boat race a crap As team is the strategy apparently.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2025 Posted May 31, 2025 So why did we use our better relievers yesterday with a 6 run lead and kept Fisher for today? neverbeenhere 1

glory Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2025 Posted May 31, 2025 Wasn't this Gausman's regular turn in the rotation? What was the reasoning for the bullpen game, aside from possibly handing the A's a win today?

We could call this some bad luck given his start to the season but we’ve got to be kidding ourselves if we’re trying to be legit contenders and wheeling out a Brandon Fisher.
Jaysman Verified Member Posted May 31, 2025 Posted May 31, 2025 Great play by Lucas, now we need to tighten this up and score some more runs.

IDK man, I don't see the big deal, they're playing Oakland up 2-0 in the series and the BP game results have been pretty great up to this point. They're resting the SP with an extra day and splitting up Francis and the BPG at the same time. Our SP depth is injured what can you do?!

Masterbather Verified Member Posted May 31, 2025 Posted May 31, 2025 I think this game already hit the over.

Yeah I have no problem with the pitching strategy it just didn't work out. That's baseball. We can still win this game. Spanky__99 1

Fair point, it’s just a bit frustrating because it must be hard to pull Fisher when you’re looking for at least an inning from him. Just highlights the depth issue we have, feels like the As are there for the taking and we’re giving them a chance!

Jaysman Verified Member Posted May 31, 2025 Posted May 31, 2025 Just to put it on the record but I like Addison Barger. Taking great ABs, power when he hits and that arm is hard not to like at 3B.
