In a vacuum, yes. Against a great pitcher, I'd rather be able to score a run without trying to find another hit, especially when we're already up by 3.

I get the argument against top end pitchers but... trading 2 outs for a run against a great pitcher is also still really hard. You're basically banking on a guaranteed fly ball out deep enough to score which is far from a likely outcome  for a 9-hole hitter against an ace. 

That said, he hit it on the screws, just got s*** luck.
