Omar Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 A lot of fans haven't even parked their ass in a seat yet, and it's 5-0. CBass has a soft spot for the A's

tango47 Verified Member Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 Me too. 40000 to watch this s___ show. Do these folks go for the hot dogs? Nothing else to do on a summer weekend in Toronto? Marvel at the renovations? It's nutso. People, you're just making it easier for the clown trio to remain in place. Not being competitive with that other joke, the A's. Are they going to sink down to White Sox level? I don't want to hear that they're using the rest of the season to evaluate talent. That excuse us seriously lame.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 Damn Daz Cameron made it? One of the biggest busts in recent memory. I remember when he was suppose to be the next one

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 I don’t understand why so many fans are still paying to watch this team It's almost like the renovations made the game day experience significantly better for a wide variety of fans - regardless of the results on the field. That's so bizarre!
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 Kirk is 10th overall in Catcher Caught stealing above average, in 2023 he was 39th. His pop times are still not good so it's all arm
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 lol at winning two of three from Baltimore and then losing 2 of 3 to the f***ing A’s. Peak 2024 bluejays
tango47 Verified Member Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 Is that how you get your Sunday afternoon kicks?Ad hominem attacks . You don't have anything constructive to say or rational rebuttals. Wonderful. I won't sink down to your level.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2024 Author Posted August 11, 2024 That was scored a hit? lol... congratz kid.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 He never made a top 100 list? Oops, my bad ranked 74 in '16 I talking about when he was a high school prospect.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2024 Author Posted August 11, 2024 I talking about when he was a high school prospect. The *Next* One...
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 I don’t understand why so many fans are still paying to watch this team A lot of flex packs or season tickets were sold last winter when there was all the hype surrounding the Jays signing Ohtani. I even know a co-worker who bought season tickets last October/November because of the Ohtani rumours. As well, it was a beautiful weekend here in Toronto. Not too humid at all, so really perfect conditions to go watch an afternoon game where you won't be sweating or boiling because of the heat. Even for casual fans, seeing a Jays game on a Sunday afternoon, chilling at one of the outfield patios, and drinking $20 beers, is something to do and an afternoon out, regardless of how the team is performing. Haven't checked StubHub recently for Jays tickets, but wondering if they might be a lot cheaper than the box office, since perhaps some flex pack or season ticket holders wanting to unload their tickets for some games.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2024 Author Posted August 11, 2024 Jays need guys on base, if Vlad gets another AB to extend his streak.
tango47 Verified Member Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 Now that's a sensible response to my wonderment.

The renovations definitely play a role. A lot of young people in Toronto and casuals think the outfield patios are a cool area to chill and hang out. As for events in Toronto, next weekend the CNE starts and there is also the Kings Plate at Woodbine. Otherwise in terms of sports, not much other than the odd Argos game or TFC game. Leafs don't start until October and NFL starts second weekend of September.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2024 Author Posted August 11, 2024 Now that's a sensible response to my wonderment. And to my wonderment, I can't believe it needs to be explained why people go to baseball games. While you log into a forum and complain about what people are doing with their Sunday afternoon? lol
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2024 Author Posted August 11, 2024 Nice one kid, first big league steak.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2024 Author Posted August 11, 2024 That looked intentional, yeah, that was intentional.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 I talking about when he was a high school prospect. That makes more sense as I don't recall him ever being some can't miss top prospect. He was a guy with a ton of tools, but he never put it all together.
