Yea, we saw the effect this had on Varsho last year getting thrown into the clean up spot from the get go.

 

I would do the gradual move up in the line up, but that is just me..

He could really stand to get the splitter going at some point. To my eyes that's been the primary factor holding him back this season as he's largely gotten by with well placed fastballs in most of his better starts.

You hit him 2nd, you’re saying he’s one of the best bats in the lineup. If he’s one of the best bats available then why wasn’t he called up earlier??

Luis Medina on the bump for the A's. Came out of the Yankees org and acquired in the Montas trade. Just activated off the IL.

I think batting him second makes some sense. Probably just telling him to walk or pop a single while following Schneider up and watching the pitches. It's the starting at 2b that makes me think a bit too much pressure.

We might soon become a worse defensive team than the 2022 Jays with none of the offensive production when Vladdy plays 3B. Atkins just counting his final days with the org hopefully.

Honestly I think I would move Schneider from the lead off spot and have him bat 2nd or 3rd. Not sure who I would bat 1st though instead...maybe Vladdy? Not many good options. Seems kind of desperate to have Horwitz batting second but hopefully he provides the spark this team sorely needs to get a run in the first inning.
