Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 The guy we just called up from AAA is hitting 2nd in the lineup ROFL. Sometimes it seems like this front office is clueless
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Yea, we saw the effect this had on Varsho last year getting thrown into the clean up spot from the get go. I would do the gradual move up in the line up, but that is just me..

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Gausman is at least pitching. Hope we see him in elite form!
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Gausman is at least pitching. Hope we see him in elite form! He could really stand to get the splitter going at some point. To my eyes that's been the primary factor holding him back this season as he's largely gotten by with well placed fastballs in most of his better starts.

If he’s one of the best bats available then why wasn’t he called up earlier?? Doesn’t make any sense. Panic moves galore the last few weeks.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Luis Medina on the bump for the A's. Came out of the Yankees org and acquired in the Montas trade. Just activated off the IL.
The_DH Verified Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 I think batting him second makes some sense. Probably just telling him to walk or pop a single while following Schneider up and watching the pitches. It's the starting at 2b that makes me think a bit too much pressure.

Going from the Yankees was JP Sears who is another solid SP the Yankees developed and were able to utilize as a trade asset. I think we miss Sears this series right?
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Why do we keep doing this to ourselves. This Jays team is not good for our mental health and yet here we are again lol. We might soon become a worse defensive team than the 2022 Jays with none of the offensive production when Vladdy plays 3B. Atkins just counting his final days with the org hopefully.
HomeRunHomer Verified Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Honestly I think I would move Schneider from the lead off spot and have him bat 2nd or 3rd. Not sure who I would bat 1st though instead...maybe Vladdy? Not many good options. Seems kind of desperate to have Horwitz batting second but hopefully he provides the spark this team sorely needs to get a run in the first inning.

I thought they actually might have Horwitz lead off and bump Schneider down to the two hole.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 I thought Horwitz would be leading off, it's where he's been hitting in AAA and Schneider hitting lower would be ideal.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 He's just off the IL too... adrenaline f***ing him up.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Horwitz run scored first inning....unbelieveable.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 1 run scored on zero hits is hilarious.
Pinkfloid Verified Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 They really earned that run, lol. Sad but I'll take it!
harvey16 Verified Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Was Lowkey hoping they would break the 1st inning futility streak. 29 games is still pretty impressive though lol
Delgalladay Verified Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Gausman is looking good. This embarrassing offense needs to help him out.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Need to score a couple of runs. Gausman looking good!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Should be good. Glad they scored a couple of runs for Gausman!
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Should be good. Glad they scored a couple of runs for Gausman! It's 6-0 Sil?
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 It's 6-0 Sil? Yeah, they should be good! Oakland averages like under 3 runs per game haha.
