Omar Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 The Toronto Blue Jays will turn to reliever Trevor Richards to make a rare start on Tuesday against the Baltimore Orioles, the club announced. Richards fills Alek Manoah's spot after the right-hander suffered an elbow injury his last time out. Richards has made seven starts for Toronto in the past two years. He began his MLB career as a starter in 2018 with Miami before transitioning to mostly bullpen work in 2020. Richards is 1-0 with a 3.18 ERA in 25 appearances out of the bullpen this season. The right-hander has struck out 26 and walked 13. Bowden Francis (forearm) was activated off the injured list Tuesday and could help fill innings after Richards exits. To make room for Francis, the Blue Jays optioned newly acquired right-hander Ryan Burr to triple-A Buffalo. Let's Go Richards!

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Why not start with Bowden, overthinking again..... What does it matter? I'd rather the Silver Fox go through that order first to be honest.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2024 Author Posted June 4, 2024 What does it matter? I'd rather the Silver Fox go through that order first to be honest. Yeah bring the curveball of Francis after the change up of Richards messes with their timing.

Omar Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2024 Author Posted June 5, 2024 Why can't we hit hr's in our own ballpark but visiting teams can?
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 Every spring training we argue on this board about pitching depth behind the top 4. I am told we have plenty and called names every year. Every year I unfortunately shake my head about this time of year.. And it will rinse and repeat in the 2025 off season unless FO changes.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 How does Baltimore keep hitting home runs in this pitchers park? I'm shocked I tell ya lol.
Jaysareus Verified Member Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 No surprise they tee off on boeden friggen Francis
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 The guy we signed to a minor league deal that most wanted waived after Spring Training is our Cleanup Hitter with a 200+ Million dollar payroll. If that isn't a complete negligent use of funds then I don't know what to say...
