This is why Gausman gets paid the big bucks. End the skid. He's looking great out there so far! Hope the Jays could get to the Dodgers pen!

Not to be critical…

But tell me how the f*** Vladdy can hit every ball off the plate causing pop-ups but anything right down the middle he swings through it?!

He is not seeing the ball just watch how he positions himself just before the pitch comes then he slightly shifts his body inwards at last minute to get himself in position to swing.

That right there is the timing issue! You don’t move your body into position as the ball is coming, you put your body in position prior to see and generate the swing.

That one slight adjustment movement is killing his timing cause he is unknowing adjusting his batting stance based on the pitch coming to him hence no consistency and unable to generate bat-to-ball contact!

If we actually make the post season you have to feel awfully good about starting Gausman, Berrios and Kikuchi the first 3 games

I hope they got people able to do this kind of analysis so Vlady can be back to his usual form

It's never been about our starting pitching tbh. It's always been the use of our starting pitching aka taking them out after 3 innings and obviously the lack of hitting.

The early pull of Berrios never would have happened if the team had any confidence in the offense to deliver.

That makes 0 sense lol

Think about it for a second and it should make sense. The offense struggled to the point where the team felt it was necessary to employ extreme strategies in an attempt to limit the Twins ability to score runs.

Don't underestimate our game planning stupidity.

Makes it even a worse decision, since Kikuchi was coming out of the pen (he was not accustomed to last year) and struggled somewhat the later part of the year.

That was my major complaint in that Kikuchi hadn't been employed out of the pen all season. It almost worked as Kikuchi induced soft ground ball contact but unfortunately the batted balls found the holes in the infield.
