philly30 Verified Member Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 They said on B&B today the Jays need to go 12-3 the next 15 against the competition to get a playoff spot. We just used one of those 3. I fear 3-12 is more likely
BlueJays Verified Member Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 easy schedule There's no such thing as easy for this team

We just used one of those 3. Probably need 20 more W's no matter how or when they come. Not going to be easy. Hard to believe we are behind this 8 ball.

We just used one of those 3. Every loss makes it a tougher road. I'm sure Jays management is as dumbfounded as we are about the offense.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 This team doesn’t have it.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 It's still early in this part of the easy schedule.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 It's still early in this part of the easy schedule. The reality is our offensive players are f***ing over this team and we probably don't deserve to make the playoffs. Massive Disappointments: Vlad Springer Kirk Jansen Varsho Chapman The only bats who have met or exceeded expectations are Bo, KK, Whit and Belt. This team was a very deep, well constructed team, but very few teams are able to overcome 6 starters who have significantly underperformed with the bats. The players simply need to play better.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Please fire the hitting coaches and launch Vlad to the sun.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Please fire the hitting coaches and launch Vlad to the sun. hitting coaches don't make a difference. It's the players. Of course you trade all the bums, send a message, but we all know that's easier said than done. They have to want to be champions. I've seen very little to suggest some of these players want to win. Vlad is the prime example.

So what happens for next season? Does Atkins make adjustments and shake things up or does he keep the status quo? He also has to find 4 new starters (2B, 3B, LF and DH) for the lineup. Yup a lot of players underachieved this season. It's not all Atkins' fault obviously but he'll take some of the blame if this team misses the Postseason.
