What Moreno has done or not done this year is largely irrelevant. It’s the value he was at as our top prospect and where he was ranked in baseball. That was his value at the time of the deal. Who drafted Martin?

Yeah if the Varsho trade never happened, then I think re-signing KK would have been a real possibility, but no chance they do it now. The only way for Varsho to have any value on this team is to play a great CF and hope he has anything close to a 100 wRC+ bat. That's what they will do in 2024, for better or worse.

 

As mentioned, I don't think Varsho is a lost cause in general, but in 2023? He's hurting the team badly and they need to do something with LF.
