I don't think it's premature to say, but putting Belt on a phantom IL stint and seeing what we got in Horowitz for a few weeks is looking good from here.

Yes it is, the chances that Horwitz is better than Belt going forward is quite low.

Okay, if Biggio can't hit breaking balls over the heart of the plate, we actually have a problem.

They already know what Horowitz is.

He won’t strike out much, but he also won’t hit for power. Singles and walks while not having a defensive home other than 1b and DH. It’s not a great profile

We shouldn’t be subjected to Belt and Biggio in the same lineup

Even against righties

It just doesn't seem to matter

Belt’s at bats are relatively competitive. He generally swings at the right pitches, has a decent approach. He just can’t get anything done.

Biggio’s plate appearances are painful to watch though. I don’t know how we can keep trotting him out there

That's what I am saying Belt's at-bats are not bad, he just looks like he's swinging a sledge hammer.

Agree with this. You can see Belt is patient, swings when he should, not when he shouldn’t…he just has some mechanical issues that is screwing him up big time. That weird hitch in his swing is causing him to be late on virtually everything

Biggio is just passive, like he’s guessing at whether the pitch will be a strike or not and just decides ahead of time is he wants to swing, he waits so long to commit to a swing and by that time any fastball is past him and breakers fool him
