I think the Horwitz HR should count as bench on a technicality. Belt was in the lineup and got taken out...lol. Isn't that bench? (I need this...)

Horwitz was in the starting lineup, he was not brought in from the bench, so no it doesn't work your way.

:P

Interesting observation. There may be some merit to this claim.

What is the rule if someone in the original lineup gets scratched and replaced? Does that replacement player count in the starting lineup or on the bench?

I have always considered it a bench pick. Something we can discuss changing moving forward

If they start the game at the position they are a Starter regardless of how it happened. They take the field as the original 9. I don't know how they could be considered bench. But that's just me.

But anyway I am going with Bench.

A lot more people use to make their picks before the lineup came out so if you picked someone and they weren't a starter the guy would be available off the bench. I also don't think we should just default to the guy that did start over the original pick. Should the pick just be counted as a loss?

My understanding was always if the original player was out of the lineup then the people who picked that player were moved to picking the bench. In my opinion this makes the more sense. It's up to the people to keep track of the change being made to the lineup and therefore pick another player before the first Blue Jays at bat.
