Obviously a game 3 means it's tied 1-1 and it's win or go home.

Berrios SHOULD be a top 3 starter in this rotation, and we have a lot invested in him. But he's been so hit and miss.

Stripling has been SIGNIFICANTLY better especially the last couple of months.

Who would you give a game 3 start to?

Who will Schneider give it to?

I would go with Stripling right now but if Berrios is good in his last three starts to end the season I think he will get the ball.

Has to be Stripling.

Might see some funky/weird s*** though. Don’t forget about that playoff game in 2020. They went Shoemaker for 3 innings, pulled him even though he was cruising and then went to Robbie Ray out of the pen for a few innings.

David Price out of the pen in the ALDS 2015

Could see a Berrios/Stripling piggyback start

Nobody i would rather finish it in 2

Ideal

Then in a 5 game ALDS series I'm fine giving all 4 a start, throwing Stripling and Berrios the first two games. I can't see sending Manoah and Gausman on short rest.

IIRC there are fewer off days this post season so everyone may have to use a 4 man rotation most of the time

I kind of like Stripling for three, depending on the score, how well he's pitching, and where in the lineup he is then going to Berrios for 2-3

There’s an offday in between ALDS game 1 and 2 so should have enough rest for whoever pitches WC game 1, to pitch ALDS game 2

Too early to say yet. If Berrios shows us more Berrios the good down the stretch, you can make the case either way.

It may come down to matchups though. If you are most concerned with a the opposition's LHH, Stripling could be the better choice and vice-versa (assuming Berrios continues to trend upwards).

Well there you have it...

The politically correct thing to say. Stripling hands down is ahead of Berrios.

Berrios still has to show the Jays he can be reliable in a big game. He needs to make 3 or 4 very strong starts to end the season before he gains any trust in the Postseason.

Great answer. Reveal nothing and boost up your players.

Also gives the answer to this thread's question - TBD!

Thanks tips... lol.

Yeah, of course it's to be determined, but Chicken Strip has the leg up.

Based on Berrios' splits i.e. poor record on the road, it seems clear to me that if playoff game 3 is at home it would be Berrios, and if it's an away game it would be Stripling. Then one would piggy back off the other if there was a bad start.

With Berrios, I wonder if the Home/Road splits are as much about him being a creature of habit with sleeping in his own bed/working out at his own gym/eating at his usual spots/etc being very important to his state of mind? It's so weird, and I can't imagine what else the reason for the splits other than randomness could be.
