John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 Not trading a top prospect package for Soto when he won't even accept a 440M contract extension TO be fair, he's not accepting a 440m contract extension from Washington. It really could be his way of saying he has no interest in signing there long term and just wants to be somehwere else. Like, from Washingtons POV, what is really the difference between 15/440 (29.6 AAV) and 14/440(31.4 AAV) or even 13/440 (33.8 AAV) ? that's like... 4million per season difference and you have to worry about the end term crater for LESS time. Seems to me he has told them he doesnt want to extend in Washington. Couple that with the current ownership uncertainty and the fact that it's probably a matter of time before the Lerner's sell the team, any potential buyer probably wouldnt want to be locked into a contract like that they didn't approve.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 wat Yeah, that deserved exactly that response. WTF... dude has Ace upside? He and Martin were the key pieces in that deal.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 I’m thinking a Lefty College OF bat for sure. I don’t think we’re saving anything on our First Round Pick lol stealing him from Vanderbilt. I just watched Barriera‘s MLB Network interview and wow it was much different one from his ESPN one. ESPN one he looked like a humble kid just ready to work. MLB Network his confidence was like a 10 with a chip on his shoulder lol. This one right, Jonn... https://www.mlb.com/video/barriera-on-being-picked-no-23
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 lol he wanted to go to college rather than play for any other baseball team. Come on down Toman. Perfect example of the Dunedin complex pays its dues.
