Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 I feel like its a critical change in todays game with the V and the knowledge the strike zone diagram being visible has given viewers (a good thing - I don't blame the victim here). I'm not one for the "human element" behind the plate for the glory and nostalgia of the ol' game. I'm also not one for "just give me a consistent call on a zone whatever it is". The strike zone is what it is, regardless of the umpire and ump shows. I also feel like I cant be hypocritical on the impact it will have on C pitch framers AKA using human error/bias skillfully to steal strikes that are balls or ensure borderline get called. Thats a skill that can go with the Dodo bird too as far as I'm concerned. Clear, consistent and equal/fair for both teams trumps it all. This^^^^
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 (edited) 5.89 total run impact is the worst of any game since 2019 and 3rd worst since 2017 https://umpscorecards.com/games/ Edited June 22, 2022 by JFD
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 No, 2.03 runs. He was bad for the Chisox too, just not as bad as the Jays. Dude's brutal. Net minus 2.03, but almost a full 4 runs for the Jays and 2 runs for the Whitesox. Meaning the score should have been more like 10-9 Jays. Solaxys is correct

5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 Why would you pitch to Vlad? La Russa is f***ing awful. Kirk's one of the hottest hitters in the league and Velasquez has trouble with his command. If he walks Vlad, he has no wiggle room at all.
