gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2022 Posted March 26, 2022 Command seemed fine, but he wasn't fooling anyone today. He made Stanton look foolish on 3 pitches, so he did throw some nice sliders today. Nonetheless, if he can't decently command three pitches, he's shouldn't be a swing man. 7th and some 8th inning high leverage situations should where he should be used with the ability to go multiple innings if needed. Either that or obtain another decent pen arm and have Pearson go 3-4 innings per start in Buffalo while he works on his command, especially on his secondaries.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2022 Posted March 26, 2022 I'm ok with trading Pearson again Would never trade this low on him
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 Would never trade this low on him Hopefully he doesn't get lower
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 Today's lineup: Definitely interested to check out Tapia in action, just gotta hope he never bats this high in the lineup regular season.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 Lets Go Jays... Greg *f***IN* Bird!!!
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2022 Author Posted March 27, 2022 Just tuned in to see Vladdy crossing the plate (dope), how did Tapia's AB look?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 Just tuned in to see Vladdy crossing the plate (dope), how did Tapia's AB look? First pitch swinging liner to CF, on a good defensive play, he was robbed. 105.6 EV with a an xBA of .700
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 The struggle of Hazel Mae trying to pronounce Japanese players' names with the Japanese pronunciation but using Latino pronunciations instead. Just tuned in to see Vladdy crossing the plate (dope), how did Tapia's AB look? Scorching liner up the middle that went right into the CF glove.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 Harper owns Kikuchi today. Other than that he's looked good.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 Harper owns Kikuchi today. Other than that he's looked good. Siddle explained it perfectly, poor sequencing and awareness. How do you not get into a LHH kitchen as a LHP that can hit 95-97 is beyond me.

Spring Training could have a very different plan per outing than regular season.

How do you not get into a LHH kitchen as a LHP that can hit 95-97 is beyond me. And Buck could be right too. About working on the pitch, but yeah, I'm with you and Siddall though, you have to read the batter's approach. Harper sat curveball both plate appearances. We'll never know, unless Kikuchi states it.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 Oh look, Kikuchi gives up a HR on a breaking ball to a LHH. Their game plan was obvious.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 Another breaking ball, launched. They're just sitting on it as he's obviously working on the pitch to lefties.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 YouSee MyCoochie with a rough outing.

Spring Training could have a very different plan per outing than regular season. IMO were at a point in the spring where pitchers need to plan and sequence in getting big league hitters out, period. You can work on your breaking balls to the lesser types, the pen or live bp.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 Vic Carapazza in midseason form.

King Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 There was a lockout dude, chillax. He wouldn't be saying that if Kikuchi wasn't Japanese.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 There was a lockout dude, chillax. Season starts in 10 days.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 Springer OPS > 1600 Has he looked OK running etc?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 Season starts in 10 days. Right, and they're working on s*** whilst getting their pitch count up to 85, there last start is where all of them will lock in on that process.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 Springer OPS > 1600 Has he looked OK running etc? Yeah, he's fine.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 He wouldn't be saying that if Kikuchi wasn't Japanese. lol
