Quick question:

 

If you KNEW the Jays would fire Montoyo for missing the playoffs, would you rather:

 

1) Jays make the playoffs, and Montoyo cemented as manager going forward

2) Jays miss, immediately fire Montoyo

 

I honestly think I would choose 2 if we knew he'd be fired. The pain of missing this year would be far eclipsed by my frustrations going forward with him as manager.

 

Obviously I don't think he'd get fired, so I'm rooting for this team to make the playoffs, but I don't know if I can handle another year of Montoyo...

 

If that was the choice then I'd fire Atkins because he should be smarter than that. The decision to fire or not fire a coach shouldn't come down to whether you make the playoffs by a game or miss by a game.

I would rather make the playoffs. Wasting this year would suck. This is a very talented group.

Playoffs. They hired Montoyo. There's no guarantee we'd get an upgrade when they hired someone else.

If Reese catching Berrios could get these results more often than not...I'm on board with keeping that jerk off.

 

I’m personally not a huge fan of half the rotation having personal catchers.
