I'm not sure about that, but it eliminates so much torque off the back of your hand(hamate).

Yet again, the Blue Jays bullpen has to start off on the back foot with multiple guys on and no outs.

 

Because it's not possible for these guys to have clean innings late in starts and it's not possible to pull them until they start imploding.
