I'm thinking more and more that Shapiro wants a "yes sir" type manager rather than someone who stands on their own two feet. If true, it's a serious problem. Just like he prefers a yes sir GM.

How is Gurriel not hitting ahead of Biggio?

I mean, they've been very similar value wise as hitters over their careers, and Biggio's been better this season (not by a lot...) so it's not really an egregious mistake like batting Panik ahead of anyone, or even at all...

Gurriel is a lot better than his numbers indicate this year. Gurriel's talents are more suited for run producing situations where Biggio is obviously more comfortable as a table setter.

They're both a lot better than their numbers indicate this year, but I don't think it's clear that one should be batting ahead of the other. I mean, Biggio has his best numbers as a leadoff hitter, but he's not going to hit there with this roster, so it's not bad to have a high OBP guy anywhere in the lineup really.

Yeah, I'd rather bat Biggio where he's more comfortable. Unfortunately on this team, that's ninth.

Moreno HR!

Holy s*** a double and a HR in his first two ABs. This kid is a machine. Interesting that he's playing third base today.
