Not gonna pick obvious names like Matz, Merryweather, Manoah, SWR, Kloff, Orelvis, or Moreno for any of these categories.

If we started this thread in spring training it would be different.

 

Sleeper bat: Josh Palacios

Org player turned useful bench piece. I think he can hit for average and some power if given opportunity.

 

Sleeper arm: Anthony Kay

I think Buckets will get rotation time and earn a lengthy spot.

 

Sleeper prospect bat: Manuel Beltré

We might only see a glimpse of him at DSL/GCL this year. Kid is gonna be really special. He could be one of the top prospects in the Jays system by 2023.

 

Sleeper prospect arm: Eric Pardinho

People are really sleeping on this kid that’s coming back from TJS, he was literally the youngest pitcher in MWL and a former top 100 prospect at age 18.

 

Bust: TJ Zeuch

Not a great depth starter. Not really a BP guy. I’m not sure he has a role here long term.

 

New legit guy: Joey Murray

He’ll get the call this year and probably do better than people expect.

Sleeper - Tanner Morris. Good eye - contact guy who showed up in camp in better shape than he left Vancouver. 2024 Morris will have fans saying this is the guy that will replace Biggio.

 

Bust - Eric P...oh wait he was my bust pick 3 years ago. Have a set people and reach. I will go with Orvelis here. For no other reason than I think he had some bad habits with his aggression and time away from ball might hurt him more than some others. Probably should be a regression over bust but you don't give me that option.

 

Legit - Sim. His change up is supposedly developed now and I saw him as a #2 type before. He might get elite hype soon...it will all be from me but that shouldn't matter.
