Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 I imagine a lot of companies will have realized that there are major cost savings, and other benefits to having a remote workforce. Hopefully most of them will be able to get over the "If I'm not watching my employees like a hawk, they will be lazy!" mentality. But then again... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IW3lhfVpLL4 Man - we're starting to have those discussions internally and there are a lot of those type. I don't think there's anyway we can go back to being in the office 9-5, Monday to Friday. It's going to have to be a hybrid system....which makes sense. There's no one way to do something. There are all kinds of pro's and con's of remote and in-office work.

There are all kinds of pro's and con's of remote and in-office work. I've essentially been working remotely for over 10 years now. I go in for meetings, or the odd time to mix it up and be with my peers. It's been great. I started a new role in January. Working remotely has been tough with respect to training, having resources to lean on and use, in order to get myself up to speed. I would say that's the only piece that I'm missing with the face to face interaction... That initial training and orientation component. Also would be nice to meet my team face to face and learn what everyone does.
