Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 Tanaka facing off against Greinke in game 1. The Yankees added Hicks and CC to their ALCS roster, leaving off Tyler Wade and Luke Voit.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2019 Author Posted October 13, 2019 Ugh, Joe Buck is back.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 Talk about a rude welcome for Ottavino lol.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 Who got hit? Ballpark security staff in the Astros' dugout they said. Might not even have been watching the play if he was doing his job properly, poor guy.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Bad call in a crucial situation there.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Bad call in a crucial situation there. too close to take, bregman should have pulled the trigger
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Yordan getting exposed big time the last few games.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 Holy f***, shut the f*** about football, nobody cares. American commentators are the worst, they just can't help themselves. f***ing Joe Buck.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 Yordan getting exposed big time the last few games. Exposed is a bit harsh. He's a rookie in the playoffs facing two of the best pitching staffs in the sport, it's pretty normal that he doesn't look like a world killer the way he did in the regular season.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 The biased fan in me says the Yankees have had a horseshoe up their ass this game with how many line drives from the Astros have found a glove, but I'm pretty sure that's been the case for both teams.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 The ball definitely seems to be de-juiced, no way all of these flyouts at the wall stayed in the park in the regular season.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 The ball definitely seems to be de-juiced, no way all of these flyouts at the wall stayed in the park in the regular season. It's also colder now that we're in October, along with often different wind conditions.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 It's also colder now that we're in October, along with often different wind conditions. I think the guys at BP and wherever else that determined that the ball is traveling different took this into account. Also I can't imagine Houston of all places is experiencing significant weather changes from the regular season.

Also I can't imagine Houston of all places is experiencing significant weather changes from the regular season. I would think it would be higher humidity there right now, and probably 10 degrees cooler (assuming the same roof state). I could be wrong though. If the ball was different, I kinda think we'd be hearing about it from every pitcher in the postseason.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Crap. That strikeout knocked me out of first place in a showdown

Pitchers don't tend to speak about the baseball much, only Verlander has ever really spoken out about it.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 Joe Buck just said Aledmys Diaz, being Cuban as well as Chapman, probably grew up hearing about the latter and now here he is facing him in a playoff game. They are two years apart...
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Who did we get for Diaz again? Hes pretty good.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 Who did we get for Diaz again? Hes pretty good. Not sure if serious, but we got Trent Thornton who was more valuable this season as a rookie than Diaz was with us last season.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Not sure if serious, but we got Trent Thornton who was more valuable this season as a rookie than Diaz was with us last season. Seems like a trade that's worked out for both teams.

I just got confused since we've been trade partners with the Astros so much in the last few seasons. I'd say it was good deal for both teams as Diaz was valuable despite only playing less than half a season worth of games.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Throwing guys who are used to being starting pitchers into the pen to come on with runners on base doesn't seem wise.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 LMAO at that being a foul ball.
