Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Good news guys Drury is back in the lineup 400 at bats of being one of the worst hitters in the majors has not deterred this franchise faith in him
Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Infact using a minimum plate appearance of 400 Drury has been the 6th worst hitter in all of baseball Grichuk has been the 9th worst hitter in all of baseball I guess long term deal of 5/50 coming for Drury.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Good thing we get Davis 3 games in a row and Alford just 1 lmao...just awful

Ex Player Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Lets see if Waguespack can avoid the sweep
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Good thing we get Davis 3 games in a row and Alford just 1 lmao...just awful You'd think Alford laid an egg in his first full game back, but he played great and still can't get in the lineup. They've burned his options. He's pretty much a lock to get traded in the offseason.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Why are they still playing Hernandez in the outfield.
flafson Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Geez, had no idea Glasnow throws a 100mph.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Geez, had no idea Glasnow throws a 100mph. Not normally, but he is well rested.
Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Looks like we might be looking at getting no hit again boys
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Good thing we get Davis 3 games in a row and Alford just 1 lmao...just awful It's probably because Davis is better than Alford.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Again, so many empty seats. Move that team to Canada ffs.
Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Again, so many empty seats. Move that team to Canada ffs. Maybe we can move the Rays to Toronto, and give the Jays to the Expos? Certainly would be better off.
Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 I wonder what it feels like to be a Pirates fan. Traded an MVP candidate + Cy Young Candidate for a finished Archer LMAO
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Looks like someone in the front office finally told ****oyo to finally f*** off with the opener. Team is nearly 30+ games under .500 and teams eliminated from the playoffs lol. Let the young starters throw the Ball every 5th day.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Pirates moving Cole, Glasnow, and Meadows in one year is just soul destroying
flafson Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 I wonder what it feels like to be a Pirates fan. Traded an MVP candidate + Cy Young Candidate for a finished Archer LMAO There was also a player to be named later which is a top 100 prospect in Shane Baz but who’s counting.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Glasnow in the first inning: Aroldis Chapman Glasnow in the second inning: ran out of gas?
flafson Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Not normally, but he is well rested. Good call, big drop in velocity after the first inning.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 It's probably because Davis is better than Alford. Davis is 27. He looks like he might have something as a late bloomer, but I don't see how you could definitely say Davis is better than Alford. I would say Alford clearly has the bigger upside although he might not end up being the better player. The both need at bats to be honest.

I have zero issues whatsoever with the team giving more PAs to a guy 2 years older than him who has outperformed him at AAA the last two years. They're both non-prospects.

I guess the better question is, why does the organization have such a relentless belief in the likes of Drury, Mckinney, Fisher. Do you know why. Its called arrogance and the unwillingness to accept when you are wrong.

They'll be released, sent down or traded in the winter, I guarantee it
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 (edited) Alford is 25 and has been abysmal at AAA. I have zero issues whatsoever with the team giving more PAs to a guy 2 years older than him who has outperformed him at AAA the last two years. They're both non-prospects. As a 25 year old Davis put up a .740 OPS at AA. At 25 Alford put up .754 OPS at AAA. Alford put up a .914 OPS over the past 90 days at AAA. There is the possibility that he's made some adjustments and found something. When you say Alford is abysmal, you clearly are talking about his bat because he defense and base running abilities are f***ing fantastic. For guys who live for FWAR it's shocking how little you put into minor leaguer's defensive and base running abilities. Is it simply a matter that you can't google fangraphs and have them put a number out there for you for minor leaguers so you just ignore it? Edited September 8, 2019 by saskjayfan
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 No, its because the season is lost anyways. Might as well use them to fill in the roster. They'll be released, sent down or traded in the winter, I guarantee it Fisher will be kept for sure. I suspect McKinney will be released. Drury, I'm not sure. I wouldn't be shocked by whatever happens with him.

What are you finding about Drury after he has been one of the worst hitters in baseball over almost 700 plate appearances now
