I don't really know anything about basketball, and one of the things that has surprised me the most over the last week is the variance in FT% year over year. What would cause someone like Westbrook to go from 85% to 74% 66% over a 3-year stretch? Is that likely to go back up? I noticed Gobert had a 57% season in between a bunch of years at 62% or higher. It's a skill that's completely isolated from the rest of the game, and I would have expected year over year results to be a lot stickier than they are.

Westbrook has declined into an inefficient shooter across the board, I wouldn't expect his FT% to rebound anywhere close to 80%.

I get why someone's FG% would decline as they lose athleticism. Just seems like FT% should remain static. Just looking at Tim Duncan's career now and he's all over the place year to year.

This may sound reductive, but I think FT% is largely a product of consistent practice. Westbrook is at a stage in his career where he probably doesn't feel like putting in 8 hours a week just taking FTs in a gym.

I scooped the lil' drummond boy

Dinger up

You seemed to have completely ignored me. I'm not taking Drummond regardless so it's all good.

Premature ejaculator. I was going to take Drummond, so good on ya.

I think it's because I have 17 tabs up for week 1 fantasy football and the return of the NFL has brain in an endorphin filled haze.

I like that pick. Massive, Dirk Nowitzki upside if he can ever stay healthy.

Yeah, it's the health I'm worried about. 7'3 with a knee issue that's kept him out for 20 months isn't ideal. He was signed to a big contract after the injury though, so clearly the team believes it won't be an issue.

He will be babied in a huge way this year, but good long term pick.

Yeah I had to decide between him and Tatum. He’s basically been out like 2 years so I couldn’t do it.

Could be a steal though. You’re all in on the Mavs!

Classic Abom pick.

Is he injured, or have a long history of injury or is he like the basketball version of Ian Happ?

He's been injured for two full seasons and forced a trade out of New York in a pretty douchy way. Granted, it's the Knicks, but it seems he or his brother who I believe is his agent might be somewhat of a headcase.
