Other than getting pushed around by Marcus Napoleon Stroman and looking like a f***ing hipster dweeb, I am not so sure that Atkins is the pushover that some are perceiving. BUT he seems to me to be a bit of a dunce and I do not think is capable of the GM role on an MLB team. He needs to be demoted to some back room job and let a more adept baseball guy take the GM reins. I still think just go with Cherington at this point.

His blister issues were actually a real thing. He had a blister issue in May 17 this year as well. Despite having a good year in 2016 he was not a finished product. He's lost a couple years of development due to injuries. It's got to f*** with your mind and confidence. Like many suggest he may never turn the corner, but his curve and change up especially the last couple starts have looked quite good. He has to get some velocity and movement back. Who knows if that is possible, or if he can remain healthy. Time will tell. There's something in the water in Huston. If you have decent stuff they seem to be able to get guys going down there.
