P2F Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 Welcome to the second episode of a special Prospects series at Radio Scouts. Join us as we dive into Nate Pearson's fastball and compare him to other minor league pitchers; Eric Pardinho is looking great after his return from injury and has been quickly promoted to A-ball Lansing; it's IFA season and we discuss the most noteworthy signings thus far from this year's class; we then segue into discussions about Orelvis Martinez and Gabriel Moreno; briefly re-touch upon Alejandro Kirk; praise Griffin Conine's ludicrous run to start his season after a 50-game suspension; and cap things off with a follow-up mention of the obscene offensive barrage that Lourdes Gurriel Jr. continues to bestow upon the majors. Enjoy! With: Me and BlueRocky https://bluejaysaggr.com/go/159561 Also available on all the usual podcast platforms.

BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Forgot to say, this is probably the most fun I’ve had recording an episode so far. This is the 4th (one recording had technical difficulties and never published). We got to cover some prospects I’ve been hoping to talk about for a long time, like Nate Pearson, Eric Pardinho, Orelvis Martinez, Gabriel Moreno, and Griffin Conine. All having great seasons. We were also able to go through most of the interesting names on the prospect wheel game, the only BA top 100 prospects we didn’t cover were Sean Reid-Foley (75 in 2016), Brandon Drury (94 in 2015), Nick Kingham (64 in 2013) and Lourdes Gurriel Jr (73 in 2016). There’s a couple other guys we’re hoping to cover for the next prospect special, hope they stay hot until then. If anyone missed the first prospect special, it can be found here: https://bluejaysaggr.com/go/158623 It’s also on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify and all other places.
Ray Verified Member Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Here's a potential topic you guys could explore in next episode: Guess who leads all minor league shortstops in wRC+ since 2006 (min 1000 PA)? https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/minor-league/?pos=ss&lg=2,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,14,12,13,15,17,18,30,32,33&stats=bat&qual=1000&type=1&team=&season=2006&seasonEnd=2019&org=&ind=0&splitTeam=false&players=&sort=18,1 That would be our very own Bo Bichette. He had a better minor league wRC+ than the following SS: Carlos Correa (142 wRC+) Xander Bogaerts (142 wrC+) Fernando Tatis Jr. (139 wrC+) Javier Baez (139 wrC+) Trea Turner (136 wrC+) Corey Seager (135 wrC+) Ozzie Albies (125 wrC+) Gleybar Torres (125 wrC+) His underlying numbers look similar to Fernando Tatis Jr. with a lower K% and similar Spd. Kid looks unbelievably good.
