P2F Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 It seems like the Jays' FO are rather unimpressed with the lack of work and preparation that Vlad has been putting in.

BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Hence maybe he should stay in the minors for another full year and the Jays should hire a nutritionist to work with him ! Make him the Best Vlad a Vlad can be first , its better for both long term asset protection and him ! So that this does not become a tragedy And Become Was Vlad or Best or Biggest Train wreck we ever had or shortest super star career! If we Fix him now , we can build Him better and with inflation have our first Sixty million Dollar Man ... Go Jays Go !!!

If we Fix him now , we can build Him better and with inflation have our first Sixty million Dollar Man ... Go Jays Go !!! He's not going to spend another full year in the minors if he's both healthy and dedicated to getting in shape. However at this point I don't see how he's up before the super 2. If he follows a similar timeline to his last injury. a) April 5th - Special announcement from Blue Jays Central - VGJ back to baseball activity April 12th - Special announcement from Blue Jays Central - VGJ rehab games in Dunedin c) April 19th - Special announcement from Blue Jays Central - VGJ up to Buffalo d) May 5th - Special announcement from Blue Jays Central - VGJ hitting like a beast again, has been healthy for over 2 weeks. At this point do they call him up May 6th?? Why?? He came to camp out of shape. He doesn't deserve it. And at this point he is only a few weeks away from super 2. He probably comes up after the super-2 deadline is over, and justifiably so. Come into camp at 275 lbs of dough, there is a price to pay. Now if he gets another injury he may not be up this year, barring an unexpected pennant race. Again justifiably so. Why would the Jays waste service time when he's so out of shape he can't stay on the field for four weeks straight??
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 (edited) If Bo rakes in Buffalo, Vlad and Bo up at same time in June, just as it should be Edited March 18, 2019 by Jimcanuck
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 If Bo takes in Buffalo, Vlad and Bo up at same time in June, just as it should be Rookie growing pains and all that, but an infield of Jansen, Smoak, Gurriel, Bo and Vlad would be so much more exciting than the infield we have right now with Drury and Galvis starting.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 It's being disguised as Bo Love, but the fact that Bo is back to being mentioned in the same regard as Vlad right now is kind of ridiculous. This was the headline today on Sportsnet. Has Bichette proven he deserves just as much spotlight as Vlad? The negative comments about Vlad and his weight and injury are getting pretty bad on social media. I realize that if he comes up and rakes, he's becomes the most popular Jay by far, but it's like he's set up for failure already

I don't see that headline or article on their site? Ahh... fake news, just a s***** clickbait headline for the Jeff Blair show with Shi clip, they don't even mention Vladito, you're a fatty hater! https://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/bichette-proven-deserves-just-much-spotlight-vlad/ Edited March 27, 2019 by Spanky99

Bo looked bad/overmatched vs crappy pitchers alot the few times I saw him last year, I think its a lock he will be similar to Starlin Castro which is alright, but not whatcha hoped for.

It's great that you agree that all these players are going to hit their projections. Most of the projection systems project Bo to hit something like Starlin Castro, and for example guys like Teoscar and Gurriel to have lower on base averages (they swing at a few too many bad pitches). It is really awesome that your keen scouting eye, agrees with the statistical systems. I have a question though, since you are a great scout can you give a list of the players the projection systems are under-rating?? Like the guys who are projected to be average but your keen scouting eye has idientified as over performers?? Thanks
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Bo may end up being the better player if fatty can't get his s*** together. Oblique strains? Do some core work (and triggered).
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Is Vladdy's trade value as high as it's ever going to be right now?

Thanks He is a swing first player that wont walk much, the history of these types of players is that they usually don't fair well in the majors versus better pitchers. All of his stats look sexy now because he just swings alot and has shown an ability to hit mediocre pitching. It will be a reality check for him in the majors when he isn't facing random pitchers topping at 90mph who throw right down the middle every game.

I can't remember for sure but I recall that Tercet has seen 2 at bats of Biggio's one which he missed a mistake pitch, and another of which he missed a high fastball. Or maybe he hit the mistake pitch but it didn't count because it was a mistake... I can't remember the details. Whatever the case I don't think Biggio is Tercet approved.

About 10, and naw he didn't look good. My lowlight of watching him was in the AFL in when he looked super bad vs a sidearm roggy which he should put up like a 1500ops vs hahahah
