Blue Jays Prospects: Top 5 Surprising Tools

https://bluejaysaggr.com/go/159119

RHP Jackson Rees (A+)

Projected Control grade: 55

2018 undrafted prospect Jackson Rees is currently one of the most dominant bullpen arms in minor league baseball...

He finished Lansing (A) with 25.1 innings pitched, 0.36 ERA, 0.50 FIP, 44 strikeouts to 4 walks. That’s good for a ridiculous 15.63 K/9 and 1.42 BB/9. In 10 innings pitched for Dunedin, Rees has still not given up a single run and has already pitched multiple-innings 4 times in 5 games.

Ya Jinxed Him! :P

Killing it BR. Its hard work putting out content consistently, it doesn't go unappreciated!

Yeah we stumbled on a goldmine and he doesn't even ask to be paid!

You currently have 41 Twitter followers. A quick search shows a few other random Jays blogs with around 1,000 followers - likely because they’ve been around much longer.

If you’re serious about making a go of it you need to massively increase your presence. Post on the Jays subreddit, as much as we make fun of them they have a big community - 40,000 subscribers plus the millions of general Reddit users who might pop in every now and then.

Follow anyone and everyone on Twitter that’s linked to the Jays including all the players, prospects, and journalists and include them on tweets when you think it’s relevant. They probably won’t even see it but people searching for those accounts will.

This board isn’t popular enough to drive many subscribers on its own. You need to have people who aren’t part of this board getting interesting in the thoughts and reflections of a bunch of anonymous guys who aren’t former players or professional journalists. So unless you pay money for marketing the only way you’re going to get more popular is by virtual word of mouth and name recognition.

A year later and we're now up to 279 followers on Twitter. I don't have a baseline to compare that to, but I'm content with a ~700% increase.

Also, just as a general heads up to all, we're currently migrating all of the past articles and content to WordPress and the blog will make its triumphant return very shortly.

I wrote about the MLB season: https://t.ly/wRrK

There’s such a divide between ownerships, let alone players union vs teams.

We have clubs that are paying salaries and supporting all their full time work staff, then we have clubs like the A’s are not paying any of their minor league players, while Angels furloughing their scouting department a week before the draft. The financial situation is so varied from team to team. I think both sides want to see baseball happen, but it depends at what cost.

I’m hoping they figure things out soon and there will be baseball in 2020, though it’s looking less likely with each passing week just from the fact that the season is running out of time. 100 game season probably means double headers like three times a week, assuming the season starts in July.. that’s probably not going to happen.
