Dislike that one lmao.

From an American...I absolutely loved Tim Horton's donuts the 1 time I was in Canada (too bad no Jays game). Maybe it was the ones i went to, but they were awesome and would love to see them in the US at a greater percentage

The donuts are good, the coffee is weak AF and it's hard to find anyone who "loves" it. If they do, they probably take it double cream (18%!!) and double sugar, which is basically coffee-tinged hot ice cream. I think Al's beef is probably the fact that there is a weird cult of nationalistic pride surrounding Tim Horton's, where the brand is supposed to be seen as some kind of badge of honour for Canadians, and it's seen as unpatriotic to look down on the brand. It's just this sort of trashy, ubiquitous thing that we are supposed to accept and embrace, when really their prepared food is all very un-fresh and their coffee is shite.

They have also cornered the market on hockey cross-advertising in this country to a somewhat uncomfortable degree.

The Canadian branding can get really old and annoying but from their standpoint it's a great business tool.

I dont drink coffee and assumed the food wasn't very good like most donut places in the US, so I guess I dodged those bullets lol

Tim Horton's used to make their donuts in house. I don't know if they were DONUTS but at least they were baked fresh or something. They only started doing the frozen thing, I want to say, 7 years ago?

I managed one in 2013 and donuts stopped being made fresh more than 5 years before that. The last fresh thing was the muffins which went to frozen in 2012. Those that think a franchise is a license to print money are sadly mistaken. You need to run the store optimally (understaffed) and be there yourself many hours to turn a solid salary/profit. Tim Hortons makes money even when the franchise is closed (they charge an hourly rate). I stopped eating there because I worked the closing shift and would take home so many bagels, donuts and muffins that I was fattening up my entire class the next day (I also left bagels in a bag once and a month later they were not moldy. The sauces are the scary thing though...the number of times I saw the employees just fill it without cleaning the previous amount turned me off sandwiches.

I do miss the Croissants though. Which the dough was frozen but at least baked on site, rather than just heated up

PS. the lettuce, cucumber, tomato and cheese are at least fresh never frozen.

I think I was there in early 2009 so I guess I was lucky

Yeah, my beef isn't with the people who want to own a store, it's with the corporation itself. I know that monetizing idiocy can be a very profitable endeavour.

And yeah, their donuts are trash. I remember when they used to be good, but they haven't been for a very long time. I'll still get one every so often thinking they can't always be that bad, but they are. They just taste stale all the time. Krispy Kreme has them beat by a lot, but obviously there aren't many locations around.

The best thing you can get from Tim Hortons is an iced capp. I'm sure someone will now tell me something horrifying about them, but meh.

There's no actual coffee in Iced Capps. It's all artificial.

Well Krispy Kreme actually serves doughnuts. They are the best, though.

Oh I know, I'm probably pretty much drinking sugar and cream, but damn it tastes good. Though they even manage to f*** them up quite often.

They're literally still fresh like two days later, it's crazy.

That's still like 5 days before Tim's serves theirs

I hate Tim Hortons and Boston Pizza. The only thing I do enjoy from Tim's is a cheese tea biscuit that's toasted with butter - and I like the chili. Oh and their wedgies actually aren't that bad.

I'm totally with Alan though (Allan's think alike) regarding the patriotic following. It makes me sick that people blindly support Tim's like it's a religion.

Speaking of overrated franchises, I remember you guys are going to be getting Chick-fil-A’s. People will wait in drive-thrus like 3 blocks long. Quality wise it’s basically a slightly better version of Wendy’s, so I don’t get it.

I have never seen a company with such consistently great service like Chick- fil-A. They should be the model of hiring and QC practices. They set a high bar.

I have seen/been in long lines, but they move fast, like literally not enough time to order and get my wallet out.

They were the first ones with people walking the lines with headsets and tablets that I am aware of.

Great food, service, always clean and well taken care of restaurants. 👍

Chick-fil-A is great. The quality and service (and the dipping sauces!) are worth the extra money. The chicken is delicious. No surprise that Connorp is wrong.

I did the AA and AAA spreadsheets over the weekend. The best prospect relative to their league in 2018 was Vladdy in AA, by a f***ing mile over any other league's best statistical prospect.

And the second best prospect relative to their league in 2018? .... Vladdy in AAA! haha

He is truly a historically great #1 overall prospect.

Is Vladdy already the 2nd best hitter on the planet?

isn't Vlad thicc enough without you pumping him up with a metric f*** ton of helium?

He long since left the layer of atmosphere where my helium can affect him.

Thanks for bestowing this gem of a series upon us. This might be the most useful prospect-y stuff you'll see all offseason, anywhere.

Not really. It's mostly junk science.
