What a disaster night. Who the f*** tweets that first off than doesn’t delete them when he becomes an MLB player. I mean its going to become a new assignment for an agent to make sure the client doesn’t have disaster tweets.

Hader went from the best reliever and Baseball an amazing story. To the biggest douche bag in about 3 hours. How people go back and find this s*** is amazing.

I feel bad for the kid. People won’t just let him apologize and move on.

I don't think they should either, but I also don't think he should be driven out of baseball for it. I'd feel bad for him if he was a few years younger, but at 17 you should have at least SOME clue as to the fact that what you say can have repercussions. It's not like it's just a handful of comments that are smelly, the stuff that's coming seems to be plentiful and downright disgusting.

He needs to be penalized for it imo (whether that's MLB or his organization), but once he's served the penalty fans should also be willing to accept his apology and give him a second chance. What he does with it is up to him.

Hader is a bigger douche bag than Osuna? I guess douche bag isn't the right word for Roberto

Heyman had a similiar take and he's getting ripped for it:

Crazy... Lorenzo Cain just backed him on Main-Stream media... as BTS said sad that this is going to blow up, hopefully it blows over. Our society is so fragile.

You don’t even know what happened. Here we can visibly see how much of a s*** bag Hader is. You don’t get to say I hate gay people and move on with your life in 2018. This is going to follow him forever. Unlike Pillar’s slur which pretty much everyone has called someone a Faggot before is nothing compared to this, He actually said he hated them.

I honestly don't really care, although he shouldn't have said it. He was 17 years old, 17. This is exactly how society is now a days, always offended by something. Was it harsh to say? Absolutely, should he be suspended for it? I don't believe so.

I guess some people just have thicker skin than others.

I think as Abom said this goes beyond just being a few bad tweets. This is hundreds of downright racist, misogynistic, homophobic stuff, as recently as 2016. His girlfriend was outed as having a similar timeline.

If he got suspended for something he did in High School that would be stupid. That has nothing to do with the Brewers or MLB. He deserves all the s*** coming his way though.

I don't have them on hand, everything is screenshots. You'd have to search for them. The worst ones were from 2011-2013. I believe some people are making fake ones as well.

Trout facing the heat now!

Lol probably. Come 2050 speaking will be considered offensive on planet earth.

Yeah. It's easy for me given what I hear kids talk about these days. Kids think they know everything and have no clue what repercussions their actions or words can have on their futures. They don't even fully grasp that what they are saying is despicable. They just know it's funny to the people they are tweeting it out to. All pf us as teens have been through the stages where we listen to certain music, watch certain movies when we know our parents would murder us if they found out, but we do it anyways, because we think it's funny to be contrary. Kids can be told that the N word is s*****, but they all use it amongst themselves anyways regardless, because f*** anyone who tells me what to do.

Rational adults should know this and be able to get past this, but of course the professional outragers will be out in full force.

You just described 30% of this board, haha

Lol, regardless of being a teenager, those are just not normal things for anyone to say, especially repeatedly.

Blow it out your ass.

What's considered normal now? "Normal" is subjective.

Have you ever called someone a fag? What about queer? Is that normal to you?

Blow it out of my ass? Because someone has a different opinion than you? Got it.

No, because you bring up the tiresome "have a thick skin" silliness for the indefensible.

"Normal" is not riling off dozens of tweets with racial slurs (everyone knows the N-word with "ger" at the end is different in context than "ga"), homophobia, sexism, etc.

I'm sure sometime in the past I probably used "fag" as an insult without knowing the whole story because I was ignorant and 13 years old, but I sure as hell never said I hated gay people.

It boggles my mind that professional athletes even have twitter accounts. Nothing but bad things can come from it.

...well if you're not a raging *******, nothing bad has to come of it...

I've seen plenty of off the cuff comments from good people get blown out of proportion. It's just a bad idea for athletes. The ones who don't use it have very smart people around them.

I love twitter. As long as you aren’t a f***ing idiot awesome. But it can be potentially even more fun when idiots exist.

This is unsurprisingly common. Not to the extent of Hader obviously. But you can search almost any prospect or young player and they'll have tweets calling people gay or nigga. SRF is one. It's a shitstorm waiting to happen.

Agents should be deleting these tweets ASAP.

I bet pretty much every player, majors and minors, in every sport are searching through their Twitter accounts right now.

All you have to do is going to the search bar and type your username and then a keyword. It takes seconds, and anyone can retweet them if your account isnt private. I won't do that obviously but there's hundreds of minor leaguers, probably major leaguers calling people niggers or fags.

It's unbelievably easy to find these tweets. I can't believe players don't get outed more often. Anyone who hasn't deleted their personal garbage an idiot.

Penalized? For what? Saying s***** things while not under the employ of anyone and while he was still a minor?

It's interesting that Torii Hunter hated gays his entire career and never faced any backlash. People need to stop being the morality police. Hader didn't hurt anyone, just said a few s***** things. Who gives a s***?

You should check Twitter. People are almost gleeful about the opportunity to tear down a successful person because of stupid things he said when he was 17. A bunch of ‘he’s done’ and ‘there’s no coming back from this’ tweets. It’s socially acceptable bullying.

My God f***ing twitter, lol.

You'd think the MLB teams would give basic social media training to its players. This could have been avoided by him starting a new twitter account when he became a professional.
