saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2018 Posted June 16, 2018 nice to see Travis coming along....SRF with another nice start. SRF could be a nice addition next year.
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2018 Posted June 16, 2018 Hey what happened the last time we had a huge morale building win over Washington and Max Scherzer They must have taken a team nap before this one.
wk680 Verified Member Posted June 16, 2018 Posted June 16, 2018 Hey what happened the last time we had a huge morale building win over Washington and Max Scherzer Looks like June 2, 2015: 2nd game of a doubleheader. Jays win 7-3 (W-Estrada, L-Scherzer). Start of a nice little run for the team
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2018 Posted June 16, 2018 He's putting up a 117 wRC+ this year with a VERY high walk rate. I'll be happy to take that again next year. I want more than that from my 1B.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2018 Posted June 16, 2018 I want more than that from my 1B. Well, a 117 puts him 11th in baseball among qualified 1st basemen. Of course more would be nice, but there's more teams than not who would love to have what we're getting offensively at 1st.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 What the f*** are you on about? Smoak and Chris Davis are nothing alike and there's no reason to believe Smoak will have an all-time horrific season next year. I clearly said a Chris Davis "type" season next year, not saying they're similar players. If you can comprehend the English language, I clearly compared him to Lyle Overbay with a bit more pop.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 (edited) Well, a 117 puts him 11th in baseball among qualified 1st basemen. Of course more would be nice, but there's more teams than not who would love to have what we're getting offensively at 1st. Of course. But my mentality is always, 'if you're a championship calibre team, is player X on your roster'? There aren't too many on this team that I like as serious core pieces. Filler guys? Sure. You're always gonna have #8 #9 guys in the lineup... But I'm a traditionalist in that I kinda like elite level production from my 1B. Smoak provided that last season, so it's in him... But we've only ever seen it the once. Edited June 17, 2018 by Krylian
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 Lyle Overbay with a bit more pop is a very solid player. 30s Lyle Overbay? No.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 No streak could last that long because we had Halladay on the team
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 Lyle Overbay with a bit more pop is a very solid player. Both with soft hands.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2018 Author Posted June 17, 2018 Nice start from Gaviglio, 9 pitches with 2 K's.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 Lol how the f*** was that a strike
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 It looks like it took the tenacious Blue Jays pitching staff to finally figure out Juan Soto.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 Martin had turned into some hot garbage.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 Seeing eye shyte! You got to pitch the smaller slap hitters on the inner half steady. Martin with another laser down to second.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2018 Author Posted June 17, 2018 This game's moving at a snail's pace.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 Well, Nats giving a clinic on how to manufacture runs.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2018 Author Posted June 17, 2018 You got to pitch the smaller slap hitters on the inner half steady. Thanks coach.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2018 Author Posted June 17, 2018 Well, Nats giving a clinic on how to manufacture runs. Wild throws and a balk?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2018 Author Posted June 17, 2018 Torched... liking this Grichuk!
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2018 Author Posted June 17, 2018 Diaz ankle is bothering him, nice poke and hustle.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 Wild throws and a balk? Cutting down their swings, getting on base, stealing at will.
