Ju1ced, I just noticed something possibly worth looking into, though it might be nothing at all. Now that we all get email notifications when someone quotes our posts, I've noticed that the automated message is signed 'All the best, Kiwi Biker forums" (not Blue Jays Message Board), which is a completely different message board that also happens to use vBulletin: https://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/forum.php I'm wondering if wires are somehow getting crossed and might have something to do with the unmitigated f***ing disaster that these forums have become. Eh, I dunno. I mean, it's probably nothing, but maybe it's worth looking into since, apparently, vBulletin has been utterly useless in trying to nail down what the actual issues are. And if the problem isn't this specific issue, maybe it is at least indicative of a more serious problem.Oh yeah, and I can't f***ing type on a new line, so I guess to hell with paragraphs, then.

I have absolutely no f***ing idea why it would do that but I will find out.

It's happened to me for a while, but logging out, clearing the cache and all cookies seems to temporarily fix it for me. Maybe that'll help give you an idea.

Ended up fixing that issue. Was ajax issue but not with Google, just loading it off bjmb it wasn't using https (which I've switched the site to), so AJAX wasn't loading, which does the quick reply and thanks without leaving the page.

So I've managed to change the load url to https, I have no idea why it didn't change with everything else.

 

The last issue when the site was down it just seems we get so many requests/bots that it took it as an attack, so blocked traffic, which blocked almost all traffic. Although an okay sized site, there are tens of thousands of sites that handle more visitors than this site so I don't see why they're having such an issue with it.

Bots can also be things like search engines, which for a message board with constant activity can get indexed almost continuously (I think). People (might) also be aggregating them and using AI to mine various information (such as sentiment on players, injuries, etc). I believe this is done with twitter mostly, but I could certainly see it happening other places too.

Same here, but only in Chrome on mobile and desktop. Edge seems to work perfectly. But I don't care how smoothly Edge works, it is a goddamn eyesore of a browser.
