GodDonaldson Verified Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 I know we have a problem with our starting pitching, but I really think our bat has to keep up in order not to lose opportunities to win the game.. For our last two games, Oakland’s starting pitchers exited early because of the injury. Therefore, we should have taken advantage of the Oakland bullpen which has allowed second most hits and third most homeruns in the American League. I really think every batters are just trying to go yard rather than getting base hits with good contact. I saw that trend when Jacoby became our hitting coach. I think that is why we are so bad in RISP. It is really disappointing when our bats are just dead in the tight pitching games. I really think they should consider replacing Jacoby if our bat keep struggles.

GodDonaldson Verified Member Posted May 20, 2018 Author Posted May 20, 2018 lol... Yo, you don't see players are just trying to go yard instead of making productive contact? I really see that approach is hurting this team and it is likely Jacoby's approach.. He has to be on the chopping block right now..

I really see that approach is hurting this team and it is likely Jacoby's approach.. He has to be on the chopping block right now.. This team doesn't really have the type of players who make productive contact hence why most of them swing for the fences. On top of that we have probably the slowest team in the majors & most of the guys can't run the bases well at all. This team has been a power team for years, it's time to bring in some young blood and embrace the rebuild. While coaches definitely play some part in this approach it's more on the players they have put on the field that are the problem to me. Doesn't help our pitching has been the worst in all of baseball either... Going to be a long road back to contending with how full of youth and skill the Sox/Yankees are right now so might as well tear down and hope to be more competitive in 3-5 years imo.
