Idiot. We should have traded him when we had the chance and could have gotten a Kings ransom for him.

It depends on what he did. When was the last time an MLB player was arrested and charged with assault? Most of these are allegations that never reach this point. It happened to Slava Voynov in the NHL in 2014 and he hasn’t played since.

Ray Rice comes to mind

Jose Reyes man, it was on video!

The girlfriend very likely did, as well.

s***** ass post dude.

f*** Osuna if this is all true, he deserves every bit of the punishment.

The absolute best case scenario for Osuna is if she drops the charges, and he'll still get up to 50 games like Reyes. There must be some evidence (witnesses?) other than a she said he said situation for him to be arrested.

If he did it, she presses charges, and he's found guilty, that's his Jays career over IMO in the current climate.

That's why I said due process, no, Reyes got 50 when he hit his wife in a hotel lobby.

Yeah, that's the one recent example that comes to mind. If Osuna's charges get dropped, he's probably looking at something like that. If the charges don't get dropped and he's convicted, it could be a Ray Rice/Slava Voynov situation. I don't think we can assume he'll be back in a couple months while he has assault charges hanging over his head.

1) In the MeToo era, he might have bumped into a chick when trying to get onto the subway. We don't know any details, so let's not throw him under the bus just yet.

2) Regardless, Rogers is so SJW, they'll probably make him go on a teary-eyed apology tour for two months, while suspended, and then trade him away for next to nothing to appease their subscribers. Winning is far less important than virtue signalling to the big corporations.

Tough to say anything definitive until we know more, but if he's guilty I don't care to see him in a Jays' uniform ever again.

I think we need to pump the brakes on his career being over. He still has tons of talent so until he doesn't he'll have a job.

Could be a lengthy suspension though.

The fact that he’s been arrested already bodes poorly.

Why's that?

If the police get called to a domestic in Ontario. If it's the guy he always gets arrested. If it's the female there's a chance she doesn't.

He'll pitch in the majors again even if he gets a year ban / serves time - but I don't think it'll be with the Jays if he's found guilty.

52 games. Still not arrested.

I think it's 52 Reyes, 30 Chapman, 15 Familia, Rest of season Norris (in September though), Russell 0?

We held so much value in young arms with Sanchez and Osuna after the 2016 season. They are worth so little now.

Reyes was arrested but the charges were eventually dropped by his wife.

I wouldn't be quick to moralize this, an arrest for assault on your girlfriend could be a wide range of things: from they got into an argument, nothing happened, but someone called the cops on em and they felt they had to arrest him, to he smashed her in the face -- and everything in between (and it is probably in between).

I would be quick to be worried about what the league does.

Osuna is about to learn the lesson that it's always cheaper to buy a prostitute/escort than f*** around with street trash as a young millionaire.

Let's wait for the courts to do their thing, I don't think it puts his career in jeopardy, but it's definitely going to side track him and hurt the team. I expect him to be suspended indefinitely until something clears up.

Most celebrity related cases get settled out of court if he was wrong, and if he didn't do it and he's got the proof then he'll win the case. Either way unless she doesn't back down and he gets indicted for something nasty, or (regardless of the outcome) there's video evidence, like a Ray Rice incident, more than likely the league and team won't do anything more than a suspension.

Remember ex-Jay glass bum Jose Reyes was accused and still picked up by the Mets after he got released. And he isn't even that useful as a Major Leaguer. This is in regards to your other post, I don't see anything happening to his career other than in it being put on hold.
