New fan

I'm a fairly disgruntled NFL fan who's looking for an alternative. I think baseball is awesome, I've just never had a team. I've decided to change that this year. I mainly picked Toronto because they have great uniforms (Seinfeld is right - we're just cheering for laundry). We can always build around that. Also, John Gibbons is my spirit guide. I've already ordered my Jays hat and t shirt. I have much to learn, but in time, I hope I can contribute something positive.

 

I hope we kick some Yankee ass this week.

What is the problem with the NFL

Mainly, I don't recognize the game they're playing anymore. It's much less like football and much more like basketball on grass. I just think it's very overexposed and watered down. It's hard for me to admit, because I've been a die hard for 20+ years. The concussion thing has also torn me in half. It's hard for me to get as excited as I used to get, knowing what the players are going to deal with after they're done playing. The league is wading into some treacherous waters there.

I was just discussing the other day with a colleague about what the NFL will be in 20 years and how extremely different I think the game will be. The Bills broke my heart (FOUR TIMES!) and that was my exit :|

You know, I was on the tweeter because I f***ing hate myself and ran across a tweet regarding a rule change in the NFL where lowering your helmet before contact is illegal now. So naturally, a bunch of people started complaining that they'd have to watch more commercials.
