Asian investors are eating up massive tracts of land all over Canada. It won't be long until we're the #1 destination for star Japanese players!

It doesn't make absolute sense though - we've seen Japanese players sign with New York and Boston.

Toronto has a whole lot to offer, even THREE Uncle Tetsu's and a Uniqlo.

Are you counting the Uniqlo in Square one?

I just discovered Uniqlo over the Christmas break. Is it a quality store? Their online shopping platform pissed me off.

I buy some work basics there like chinos and shirts. It's by no means a premium brand, the price point is low on their garments. It's not quite as a cheap as say, Old Navy, but their model is reasonable quality at cheap prices. If you are tired of spending obscene amounts of money for business casual clothes at Banana Republic, J Crew, Club Monaco, etc, then Uniqlo is a cheaper option. I would say the clothing quality is probably on par with the Gap, but with an accessible Japanese price sensibility.

Jesus - I had no idea. I was researching quality jeans and they said the ones at Uniqlo were solid. Not that there's anything wrong with Anime porn :)

Yeah it's a pretty good regular option all things considered. Cheaper than the Gap etc., better quality than H&M or other cheap places like that.

Plus Uniqlo has their thermal line which was needed for my last two contracts. I was torn about going in, it was so full of tiny Asians that I figured they would have nothing my size. But then it was full of tiny Asians, and I love tiny Asians.

Report: Machado's asking price still unmet

According to Fancred's Jon Heyman, neither the Phillies nor the White Sox have offered close to the $300 million-plus that free agent Manny Machado is seeking.

There isn't so much pressure for them to go that high when the Yankees seem only willing to sign him at a bargain rate and no one else is in the mix at all.

Sigh. Franchise talent in his prime is probably going to sign for below market value and the Jays are nowhere in sight. You can't tell me Manny doesn't fit in our timelines or that we don't have payroll space.

I'd rather sign Harper but yeah. If any team ends up actually getting a good deal on either of Harper/Machado, it will be pathetic from the perspective of every other teams' fans.
