I wouldn't sign Martinez but I do think people underestimate him. His quality of contact is in the upper echelon. It's possible he's a truly great hitter. And if he moves to 1B in a year or two, maybe he holds his value.

 

That's the big question I have when it comes to his value. If he's a competent 1B, that changes everything.

Yeah JDM is actually a really good player, one of the best hitters in MLB. But the problem is his agent is Scott Boras so he's going to get a ton of money at which point the contract is going be too much.
