I wouldn't mind moving on from Pillar. He's regressed defensively this year and he's limited offensively

The question would be, can we replace him at the kind of value he currently represents? He may be a guy who you keep until free agency, then part ways with.

Yeah I'm fine with that. He's just not someone I am counting on. He's spent a few years diving on cement, he's going to start breaking down and when he loses his defensive ability he will become useless as a starter

He's been saying that for awhile, constantly mentioning the RBIs...

 

I feel like there's going to be a lot of surprised faces when he's eventually released and no other team jumps in to pick him up.

Sign a FA to replace an OF spot and hope Alford hits his potential and becomes the CF.

I'd kinda like to see Alford get a full season at AAA next year.

 

So would I. No rush in getting rid of Pillar. He'd probably be a decent 4th OF even.
