Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2017 Author Posted August 2, 2017 Bottom of the order getting Stro.
Cleveland Steamer Verified Member Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Yeah but Donaldson will 'only' be 32 next season, so a 4 year deal covers his 32-35 year old seasons. Beltre is much older currently at 38. Even if Donaldson produced half the WAR of Beltre in his age 32-35 seasons it justifies the contract I suggested I guess if you can get him on a 4 year deal, I'd do it. But I doubt JD signs that type of deal. I'm thinking he'll want an 8 year mega deal.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2017 Author Posted August 2, 2017 Bats needed to hit that another foot.

I'm thinking he'll want an 8 year mega deal. And Bautista wanted (supposedly) 5/150. It isn't going to happen. And if it does, woe be the team that delivers that contract.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2017 Author Posted August 2, 2017 He will but not sure anyone will go that high given his age and recent drop offs of players in their mid 30s Depends what he does in the next year and a half, he's certainly going to be looking for a long term deal.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2017 Author Posted August 2, 2017 Smoak'd... what a beast!
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 I can't believe Justin Smoak has 31 HR and .405 wOBA on Aug 1. Baseball is f***ed.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Smoak is in beast mode in 2017 LOL just read that three comments used the word beast.
Cleveland Steamer Verified Member Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 And Bautista wanted (supposedly) 5/150. It isn't going to happen. And if it does, woe be the team that delivers that contract. JD will be much younger than Bautista was.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 What an amazing all around season Smoak is having. Should offering him an extension in the off season be considered?
wk680 Verified Member Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 JD will be much younger than Bautista was. Yeah, I was referring to the 8 year megadeal you suggested for Donaldson. That is not going to happen, but a 4-5 year big money deal is in the realm of possibility
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Depends what he does in the next year and a half, he's certainly going to be looking for a long term deal. There is no way JD will get a 7 or 8 year deal. 5/150 would be the max imo.

wk680 Verified Member Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Nice job by Pillar walking on 4 pitches. Three of which were borderline
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Smoak's SLG% at .604 and an ISO of .301 Lel.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Nice job by Pillar walking on 4 pitches. Three of which were borderline Pillar's approach is usually pretty predictable with a little deviation: Take every pitch until the pitcher throws a strike. Then swing at anything within 4 feet of the plate.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 What an amazing all around season Smoak is having. Should offering him an extension in the off season be considered? We have him under control for another 2 years after this one.

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Martin couldn't score on that? WTF?
