Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Estrada has been terrible so you're likely not getting much unless he turns it around. Liriano isn't more than a salary dump. Smith is on the DL with a shoulder injury. Thats the 3 most obvious trade targets and their value is all down. My point is they ain't selling yet. I don't get what you're saying, lol.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 I think everyone is over-reacting It's not a pretty team right now but there are still 81 games and there are only 3 teams in the AL which are for sure better. If the market was as it should be and Estrada returned you much more than it will at the deadline, than I'd say go ahead and deal him. But the market has never worked that way in the MLB so making any decision now would be a mistake. Even if the Jays get up to the second wildcard spot, I don't mind them listening on Marco and/or Liriano...if it gets them a young MLB ready pitcher. I am against a "blow it up" and trade JD move though. Sense!
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 When selling at the deadline, find a taker for Morales. It's not so much his hitting, but the fact that he's forcing Pearce to play the outfield that is awful. Pearce is a better hitter and has more defensive value. Trade Morales to the ROyals or something. Hell, trade him anywhere. Just open DH up for Pearce and unleash his bat. Kansas City obviously couldn't afford to keep him. And they're about to enter firesale mode. They won't want to now trade for him. Only a few teams really need a DH
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 The 2nd WC team is currently two games over .500. Of all the f***ing years to suck, they had to choose this one.
Yippy Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 This beating today should at least wake up management to make some serious moves
