Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 Can Smoak give Bautista some advice on how to use all fields Considering Bautista was a substantially better hitter in his prime (and last season too) while having an extreme pull approach, I'd rather he not.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 How much blame can you place on them though? Yeah depth has been a problem, but they've lost Pearce, Pompey, Alford and Ceciliani all to extensive injuries. That's all of your depth gone right there. Our AAA outfield depth is pretty good. All would be an upgrade right now and Smith looked pretty good in his short stay...better fielder than what we have now

He has lost a step though. Pulling outside pitches seems to be almost impossible this year for him
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 Lol that must have been an interesting conversation between Goins and Smoak. Goins: "Hey Justin, nice hit man, what should I be looking out for when I get up to the plate?" Smoak: "Idk man, just sit on a pitch or something and crush it 400 feet." Goins: "Uhh, thanks..."
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 Nice to see. He hit some hard balls last night without much luck.
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 Bautista has reached base safely 3 times in the month of June
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 Throw 3 sliders to Pillar It's a pretty sound strategy, the problem is that you have to get them off the plate and rely on Pillar's history, if you leave them down the pipe then any hitter can do damage with it.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2017 Author Posted June 7, 2017 Liriano brought the filth today. Really good to see

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 Our entire defense is a circus right now
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 this team goes from being awesome to frustrating as f*** way too often
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 I was just trying to force that gif in there "Oak's words echoed... There's a time and place for everything, but not now."
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 Goins f*** you. You're a glove make plays f*** bag
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 Not sure if there was going to be enough time, but holy f*** boys. Terrible defense on display.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 Goins' defense is turning into a pumpkin this season
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 I know there aren't many fans in the stadium, but the announcer and sound effects really do sound echoey and very weird. Terrible atmosphere.
