King Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2017 Author Posted April 10, 2017 Jose Fernandez 2.0 has been unleashed
baubau Verified Member Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Thanks for doing these King. If I could give out MVP awards, you'd my 2nd pick. I am no. 1, of course.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Rumour has it that right before big Jose Fernandez' boat crashed into those rocks, he said "form of - a Blue Jay!" and then snorted a line. Not sure if you guys believe in miracles or magic or any s*** like that. Just a rumour...
Thaddeus Malice Verified Member Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 So it's just four games but damn Vladdy Jr. seems like he has a great eye at the plate. 5 walks already. How quick are him and Bichette gonna move through the system?

Theres no way to know yet and lots of time for things to change. This is a total eye test point, but I'm fairly certain I saw him lace an off-the-wall double off an up-and-in 97mph 4SM fastball, in that Blue Jays/Team Canada spring training game. I think that's a testament to his bat-speed and should mean that he won't have too many issues translating his hitch to the upper minors/majors.

I personally don't care how bat gets to ball, as long as it's there at the right time and gets good contact. Theres always room for exceptions to the conventional swing

Hudson Belinsky said today that Bichette has some of the best bat speed in the minors period. Most of these guys have already stated that Bichette is for real. That doesn't mean that he won't fail, but its ruling out "fluke" as the explanation for his performance. He was pitched around a LOT during his senior season so there were a lot of people who really couldn't get a read on his actual talent. By now it is obvious that he was a 1st round talent as a hitter.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Can we launch Salty into the sun and just use McGuire as our back up?
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Lopes in aaa has a walk off hr and doesn't get a star ? Show your work. How about we don't chirp King and simply appreciate the effort he puts forth to update us all on the farm system mmmkay?
wamco Verified Member Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 How bout we pick up on some very obvious sarcasm dipshit. That being said , a walk off hr wouldn't have been necessary if Dwight smith didn't poorly play a ball in rf leading to runs.
