With regular playing time I think Smoak could put up 20-25 HR, .260 and 85 RBI.

 

Yeah. He's only had 2,887 career plate appearances. Maybe with some real AB (I'm thinking 10,000), he'll be able to find a groove.

The shift has affected Smoak as badly as any player i would say.

I am sure he practiced some bunting for some free hits and to make teams play him more straight up in the 6 months he had off.....right JS??

maybe Shatkins believes that 3000-4000 PAs is the sweet spot and that's why they locked him up for 2+ years?

I think the invention of the curveball has hurt him more than the shift.
