Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Only real beef is that I think Winker is too low compared to some other guys that he's clearly superior to (Margot, O'Neill, maybe Renfroe) and I personally think McKenzie was too low but I get that he doesn't have a huge track record.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 1st post updated with all the results. I may provide some more analysis (such as most disputed, most agreed upon, etc.) at a later time.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 I don't like the order of a few of the top end pitchers (I think Glasnow should be higher, De Leon and Kopech quite a bit lower). All in all though, I think this is an extremely strong list.
Nafro Verified Member Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 I have a huge Josh Bell beef. A 115 wRC 1B holds what for fantasy value? He's basically Joe Mauer now and has like Brandon Belt ceiling. Other 1B's with more XBH potential and similar stats get stashed down in the 90's. How about another procedure on the knee?
Cyborg Verified Member Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 Thanks again to the 12 participants who submitted lists. Couldn't have made such a strong list without you!

IMO, the issue with Winker is that his power has completely dried out this past year. If he doesn't get that power back, he doesn't offer much in the way of fantasy value as a corner OF other than avg and/or OBP. At least Margot and O'Neill have the power or speed potential going for them.

The beauty of a consensus list like this is that everyone will have a few issues with it, but they all had input and it is a very good overall representation of value. You wouldn't be able to extract value if you didn't personally disagree.
King Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 I thought Luke Weaver was too low and Brock Stewart should have been eligible but was never drafted in LoD.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 As long as you tell us you admit it again it should be all good. jackass. Albies hitting skills are about as good as my English.

Winker's walk rate is nice, but last year was quite a step back for him in other categories (power in particular). If he doesn't pick that up, he's basically an average/obp guy with little speed.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Nice to see Keller so high. Good job fellas.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 Bichette gets to sneak onto the list with Bell not being qualified by 2 PA!

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Nice work fellas, great list. Thanks for doing this Cyborg... *Beep* Boop*
Cyborg Verified Member Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 where did Oscar De La Cruz end up? Tied for 177.
GoldBull Verified Member Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Nice work - this is a great list! Where did Almora end up?
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 This is a pretty sobering experience for my LoD farm. It comes out fine, but I had Newman, Ibanez, Weigel, possible Castillo, Schultz and Greene as top 150 or close to it in my short opinions. I also figured Fisher and Yusniel Diaz would be higher, and I thought Mejia and Brinson had top 10 arguments. I guess everyone thinks more highly of their own dudes.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 Nice work - this is a great list! Where did Almora end up? I think I removed from the list for too many PA thinkng he was up longer than he was. Oops!

You were the only one to have Luis Castillo in top 100.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 You were the only one to have Luis Castillo in top 100. I guess it stands to reason that if you own certain prospects you more than likely think they are better than everyone else does.

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 I'm actually going to include the top 100 of this list in my prospect list composite rankings.
Nafro Verified Member Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 I guess it stands to reason that if you own certain prospects you more than likely think they are better than everyone else does. The key is that they are ranked where you have them this year....next year.

I guess it depends, if you got a guy that no one knows or gives a s*** about and turns out to be a serviceable player or better. You'll look like a genius. The best part about this is that there is no real consensus outside maybe the top 5.

Cyborg Verified Member Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 Love the aggressive ranking on Meadows! The fact that he should be a CF while Benintendi is not is the difference for me.
