P2F Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Aaron Hill is playing in the OF right now for the first time in his career.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Garrett Richards just had to leave the game against the A's with what looked like an elbow problem, he was pitching great too. welp there goes Stem Cell Treatment as a better alternative.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Couple of interesting articles http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/what-on-earth-happened-with-jake-arrieta/ I wanted to ask: 1. Has Arrieta always thrown across his body THAT much? Maybe it's the angle, but I never thought it was that pronounced. 2. Did I miss the discussion on the new way they are measuring velocity this year? I caught (and participated) in discussions on how everyone (except Greinke) on the Diamondbacks is throwing harder this year and Kendell Graveman's velocity spike was discussed, yet I didn't see anything about how it's measured differently this year and thus all increases in velocity should be taken with a grain of salt. http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/just-a-bit-outside/story/how-the-cutter-grip-can-affect-arm-strength-bumgarner-ottavino-rivera-042015 I never knew some organizations have banned the use of cut fastballs - including Baltimore.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 everyone needs to bookmark the Rangers gif for use this season https://gfycat.com/FoolishWelcomeEthiopianwolf

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 If you were to build a team around a young SS who are you taking. Lindor or Correa who are you taking.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 If you were to build a team around a young SS who are you taking. Lindor or Correa who are you taking. Neither. Corey Seager. Honestly though, Correa is good but not as good as Lindor. In order, Seager > Lindor > Correa
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Neither. Corey Seager. Honestly though, Correa is good but not as good as Lindor. In order, Seager > Lindor > Correa Seager > Correa > Lindor
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 If you were to build a team around a young SS who are you taking. Lindor or Correa who are you taking. I honestly don't know how you would decide. I would need to have sit down interviews with them and Seager in order to figure out who has the best personality. Seriously.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Neither. Corey Seager. Honestly though, Correa is good but not as good as Lindor. In order, Seager > Lindor > Correa Yep, Seager has the best wRC+ and WAR/162 of the three. I'd probably still lean Correa long-term, but Seager has accomplished the most on a per-game basis so far.

They all seem to have pretty good leadership qualities, but Lindor is apparently off the charts in terms of make up. Great smile too. But Seager has the hair. God, so tough.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 f***ing Lindor. The dude hits like Derek Jeter and picks it like Andrelton Simmons. Can't wait til Shatkins lands the Jays a franchise cornerstone like that.

Laika Community Moderator Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Correa absolutely has to most upside, based on his tools. It's been said a thousand times but if everything comes together he is A.Rod 2.0. But Lindor's floor is higher because of the defense. I think Seager has to be 3rd for me.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 If you were to build a team around a young SS who are you taking. Lindor or Correa who are you taking. Correa, but I'd be happy to let you pick first and I'd take the other one. As HERPDERP says, Seager also has the same value. I'd also throw Trea Turner into the conversation, he's obv a year behind the others but in my eyes he's a potential MVP candidate now he's at his natural shortstop position.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Reds prospect Kahaloa was suspended 50 games a few days ago for violating drug policy. And now new video shows him with cocaine. Not bad for a 19 year old prospect.

Nooooooo - we don't even really know if Turner can play SS yet.

Isn't Correa a 3rd baseman playing SS? Seager and Lindor are at another level defensively....and to date, Seager's been the best offensively. This god damn topic is overshadowing the articles and questions I posed. That pisses me off.

No, he's a big SS that some people assume will eventually be playing 3B. Seager's metrics were better last year but it's one season of UZR... not worth much. Lindor is very likely a lot better than both defensively.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/mixing-fantasy-reality-more-on-velocity-and-miguel-diaz/ Interesting breakdown of Graveman's sinker (as we can relate it to Sanchez in some regards). Also - the GIF's on Miguel Diaz are super sexy and totally worth a look guys. Dirty.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Tigers/White Sox are the free game today on MLB.TV. Should be fun to see the Tigers clobber the White Sox at Guaranteed Loss Field...
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Wow, Guaranteed Loss Field is basically barren of fans.. guess they're all waiting for the Cubs to come home next week.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Wow, Guaranteed Loss Field is basically barren of fans.. guess they're all waiting for the Cubs to come home next week. I'm much prefer the G Spot
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Was Lance Lynn always fat? He's got a real keg on him.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 A Hawk Harrelson clock on May 13 at the G-Spot? Oh boy.. most of the fans will be throwing those clocks out their window when they get annoyed with the Hawk.. he's already one of the worst MLB play-by-play guys in the game.. And looking at attendance.. there's about 100 fans there today.
