Devon Travis is out for the year, replaced by Smoak on the ALCS Roster

I know I was just being bit sarcastic, but Travis getting hurt is frustrating. I know he's an asset being our only 300 hitter and how ever many more years making a dirt salary

Its definitely frustrating, because he could possibly be in the top 10 for second baseman WAR in MLB but he hasn't been able to play a full healthy season yet.

It's not implied that he needs all that time. Spring training just happens to be the next thing after the World Series.

I'm aware, I was just commenting on dude's projection of 6-8 weeks not being the norm for a scope.

Some people are just fragile. I twisted my knee and probably needed surgery but did mining work with the knee ducktaped stiff and after a month it barely hurt and was fine. Then dislocated shoulder and had surgery on it and was fine. Was hitting some balls at a babe Ruth park with family last weekend and the violentness of swinging and sudden stop and start of fielding a ball, dislocated my shoulder again swinging and messed up knee probably from not swinging properly.

Just really hope he doesn't end up being one of the guys who is hurt and miss out on an awesome career and big pay day

Oh sorry... I didn't see the 6-8 weeks part. Just spring training.

Devon is young, talented and cheap. I'm sure Shapiro and Atkins love him. Going no where

Even with the health issues, he provided 2.5 War this year. Barney added 1.5 to that. They're getting good value out at 2B for the money. No reason not to run the same combination out there again next year.

That's an incredibly long recovery for a knee scope.

In my mate's op he had a similar diagnosis, and had to have the bit of cartilage removed. He's on crutches and been told he'll be back to 100% in 6 to 8 weeks. He has had a knee op before though so maybe that's why it's such a long time.

Not that it really matters - Travis is not going to be doing much until spring training anyway.

How long do you stick with Travis before you give up on him ever being able to stay healthy? This is 2 seasons now.

Ban ?

The individual player and the extent of the Meniscus injury will dictate the recovery time and like Saunders his future fielding could be affected......The Jays have a habit of down playing the extent of player injuries so who knows....

Or you messed up your knee again because you duct taped it instead of getting it fixed properly
